This business scammed my 86- and 87-year-old parents out of well over $15,000 for bogus treatments. They pushed my mother into getting "stem cell" therapy for her knees. This "stem cell" procedure is now the basis for a lawsuit by the FTC and Georgia AG for being fraudulent. My father was pushed into a bioidentical treatment to increase his testosterone levels to increase his energy. They will not bill Medicare and I while I was visiting last week, I had to step in during their appointment to stop my mother from signing up for a "treatment plan" to "put moisture back in her spinal pads" She could not hear what the doctor was saying and the doctor was very aggressive about the $125 a session, 10 or more sessions required, package. My parents are of a generation that is incredibly trusting and if they think people are "nice" will never question anything. I have filed a complaint with the CA Board of Chiropractors and will also file with the CA AG and Adult Protective Services, Financial Fraud department. I'm basically trying any avenue to help my parents get back the $12k they spent (emptying what was left of their savings) to a company that is completely unethical.

      Business response

      04/01/2022

To Whore It May Concern at The Better Business Bureau,

This letter is in response to the complaint made on 3/20/2022. ID ********,

We will do the best we can to help rectify the situation when a patient is unhappy. Thoegh HIPAA doesn't allow us to say too much, this isn't a review of the patient's experience. We have never had a complaint by either patient. This letter is written by the daughter of the patients, who has up until recently, never been made mention of or been a part of any of her parents' medical decisions in our office.
The patient and her husband are happy with our services. They have been cared for by our staff for over a year and have had significant improvements documented. They have stated that they are more than satisfied with everything they have received, The patients are both of sound mind and body and able to make decisions for themselves without their daughters' involvement. Never has anything we have done violated medical guidelines, nor have we promised anything or taken advantage of this, or any other patient, in our last 21 years in businessi
A note on our policy as a busiress with any patient that enters our clinics. Before a patient is allowed to begin care in our office they must sign an informed consent which covers a few key things:
Our office policy is that all patients are on a cash basis and they must pay out of pocket for any unreirnbursed insurance services. They sign a notice of non-covered services that clearly states what their financial responsibility is (what the insurance company does not cover). We explain and have them sign that results are not guaranteed. Patients voluntary consent to the procedure(s) anc consent that the payment for any service delivered is non-refundable.
We are a fee for service practice, we do not bill insurance for most of our procedures as they are considered Complementary and Alternative Medicine by insurance companies and are thus not covered_ If we accept a patient into our practice for care, it is because we honestly feel we can relp them and that patient has an opportunity to benefit from the treatment options we provide, If a patient is not a good candidate, we will not accept their case,
We will happily refund a patient for any services that are paid for and not delivered, or if they change their mind to receiving the service prior to it being delivered. However, once a service(s) is delivered and we have completed that service there is no refund. Especially when the patient is satisfied with the outcome!
      Respectfully,

      ******* ** ***** **
Clinic Director at Vitality intoc-ative Wellness
