I am writing to file a formal complaint against Ariana Motors and its manager, AJ. On January 19, 2023, I contacted Ariana Motors with the intention of inquiring about a vehicle (2017 Genesis G80) that was listed for sale on the cars.com website. I was contacted by the dealership manager, AJ, and during our conversation, I asked for the best out the door price. He advised me the best OTD price was $25,853 that was the car with taxes, no title, doc fees etc. I advised him that seemed strange and normally when I have purchased cars out of town titles registration etc is handled by the dealer.inquire about purchasing a vehicle. During the course of my interaction with the manager, AJ, I was subjected to verbal abuse and the use of expletives starting with “you’re a sick ****.” And including “**** my **** ****** ****er,” “******” and “**** you *******.” . This behavior was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I was shocked and deeply offended by the manager's language and attitude, and I believe that such behavior is unacceptable for any business, let alone a car dealership. I am also concerned that this manager's behavior may be indicative of a larger problem within the dealership, and I urge the BBB to investigate this matter further. I would like to request that the dealership takes action to rectify this situation and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. I would also appreciate a written response from the dealership regarding the steps it has taken to address this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, ******* ********

The consumer contacted us regarding the said vehicle and wanted unreasonable accommodation that can not be provided. He wanted the vehicle to be registered in another state when that is not legally possible. Perhaps it was possible in the past.

We tried our best to accommodate him and his varies requests via phone and email. He was not happy with our response of not being able to sell him the vehicle at the price he wanted and demanded. His registration request was not feasible either.

In conclusion, he was very upset and he is writing his version of the story. The actions he is speaking of did not happen.

We strive to provide the best customer experience to our valued customer.

The complaint is not accurate of our business.

I am rejecting this response because:

According to California law, a request from a consumer is considered unreasonable or unfeasible if it imposes an undue burden on the business or if it is not in accordance with established trade practices. However, requesting the removal of dealer installed items from the price of the vehicle I am purchasing is not unreasonable. As per the consumer protection laws, dealers are not authorized to charge for items or services that were not agreed upon by the consumer, and I have the right to request the removal of such items.

Additionally, I have the right to question the documentation fees and registration processes involved in my vehicle purchase. These fees are often seen as excessive and unjustified, and it is my right as a consumer to inquire about them. Challenging these fees does not constitute a personal verbal attack, as I am exercising my rights as a consumer to understand the charges and fees involved in my purchase. I inquired about the registrations process which after doing research post conversation, allows a dealer to provide the customer with a one way temporary permit for registration in forum state, not illegal. In California, the DMV has rules in place to protect consumers from dealers abusing them by overcharging for documentation fees and other charges

In conclusion, it is my right as a consumer to request the removal of dealer installed items and to question the documentation fees and registration processes. Any personal verbal attack from management in response to these inquiries is unacceptable and could potentially be considered harassment. A violation of my consumer rights is cause for complaint and possible investigation of practices my said individual.
