Date of transaction: 5/3/23 The amount was $6655 including tax, license, registration. The vehicle: 2014 Dodge Dart SXT with 101,100 miles. The dealer provided an AS IS – NO DEALER WARRANTY. The dealer provided a cancelation contract option agreement. It was only for 2 days and I declined it, and it was not really explained to me. The vehicle ran poorly after driving it for about an hour. The coolant was low and the oil was dirty. I took it for an oil and transmission fluid change on 5/6/23 and it continued running poorly. The car did not start easily, the engine turns and turns until eventually it starts. I took it in for diagnostics on 5/8/23. The valve cover gasket was replaced, and oil pan resealed. I drove the car the car a few days and the coolant continued to drain, and the car still does not start easily. I took it back to the repair center for more diagnostics. The repair center reports that the repair would be upward of $4000 for a new head gasket, and they recommend it’s best to replace the engine. I called the dealer asking them to take the car back and refund the purchase. The dealer outright refused and said we should have read over the documentation carefully, and that they would absolutely not take the car back. It is my understanding there is a 30 day law for used car purchases and we are now close to the 30 days.
