9/11/23 I scheduled a spay appt. for my 10 month old female dog, *****. ***** is my first time owning a dog, trying to do things right and looked up a well rated vet clinic, and they took advantage of my trust and naivety. Clinic quoted me $800, an outrageous price for a spay when I was quoted this month March $450 from another clinic, but I agreed because I desperately needed it. I missed their calls at 2:30pm and called back at 3:30pm, and they discuss how they had to do a full operation on my dog because they couldn't find her ovaries. It isn't until after that I am told I will have to pay $1675. I was supposed to pay for a spay and instead they performed a full operation on my dog without my consent, charged me double what I was quoted, and she is NOT even spayed because they couldn't find her ovaries. They proceeded to tell me that they can run a hormone test which would cost $400, to see if she has ovaries. If it tested negative, then they can run it again at a later time (yet another $400). This honestly felt like gouging, when Care Animal Hospital already quoted their spay double what other clinics do and charged me DOUBLE THEIR QUOTE for an unauthorized operation. Oct 2023 my mom called to dispute w/clinic the service and they offered a minor refund, which was declined. I called Care Animal Hospital on Friday 3/22 in the morning to speak to management and I called again in the evening because they did not return my call, despite someone ensuring me someone would. Tuesday 3/26 and still have not returned my call. This whole ordeal has greatly inconvenienced me and caused immense stress mentally, financially as I live paycheck to ********* ******* will have to suffer the most throughout this whole ordeal because she had an operation performed on her that was NOT authorized, and she will have to deal with giving birth when I tried to do my due diligence and get her spayed in time, and she will STILL need to undergo another procedure to officially be spayed.
