We took our rabbit in for stasis on ***** *** ***** He was the last released that evening and they wanted him back the next day for more fluids. The vet tech gave me the update and directions as my partner handled the bill part with my credit card - we were only given an amount without an itemized bill prior to being charged. After getting him settled in I reviewed the receipt and I shocked to see a "miscellaneous meds/treatment" charge of $200.00. I also found a charge for and X-ray consultation for $331.00 something we never approved. The next day and took him for his fluids and I questioned the charges and I they said the $200 was a mistake but the $331 could only be reversed if the X-ray wasn't sent out. ********* came out 10 minutes later and told me that the two charges were refunded and I was happy and left my rabbit. I was only about 10 minutes away from the clinic when ******** called me to tell me that they had to charge the $331 back because they already sent in the X-ray. To top it off, I get home and see that my card was charged $334 and not $331! 4/30/2022, I have been trying for two weeks to speak to the office manager. Every time I called either she was not working that day, in a meeting, on the phone, at lunch, but finally I spoke with ***** about the situation and got the run around. First it was "we don't treat rabbits often so we don't have items in our system for them", then it was "consultations can't be refunded". I asked why it was the responsibility of the client if I didn't even authorized it? I said "this is super shady" and she actually said "I am NOT saying it NOT shady." What? There was more but I'm going over my 2000 character count. ***** told me that she has to speak to the regional manager. She said she would call me Monday (05/02/2022). I didn't hold my breath since the hospital never called to even check on my rabbit and we never even got the results of this "consult" that I paid for but NEVER approved.

Today, I took my cat to the Affordable Animal Hospital in Silver Lake since we had found a large (round?, earth?) worm in his litter box, and we wanted to check if the cat had worms. Also, he went to the vet for hyperthyroidism two weeks ago, and thus the vet told us to come back for a free follow-up within two weeks. They took the cat in while I was waiting in my car. One hour later, a lady called me to say that they would give deworming medications to the cat and that the total amount for today's visit was 150 USD including the medications. I said OK (my mistake). Then, they told me to come to the front door. I asked them if my cat had worms. A (Spanish speaking) lady said that I had taken my cat to the vet for deworming, so they gave me the deworming medications. I said I didn't know if my cat had worms or not, and that's why I took him there for a checkup. The lady said: "And how can we know?". She said I had to know if my cat had worms or not. I said it's stupid that I am the one who has to know if my cat had worms since they are the vet! The worm could have appeared due to the recent rain in LA. I also asked her if my cat had to continue with Gabapentin or not. She said I had to decide, and how would they know if my cat was in pain or not. I said I wasn't a vet, and the vet is the one who decides on medications. The lady said the vet who checked on my cat two weeks ago wasn't in, so I should come back in one week. She was complaining that I kept adding work to her (she said:" You originally came here for deworming checkup, and now you ask asking about medications, food, etc."). She must have forgotten that one of the reasons for our visit was to check his hyperthyroidism since it was the "free follow-up" that they had promised. For some reason, she said I was insulting her, that she didn't want to deal with me anymore, and that I should talk to the manager. And she PUT THE DEWORMING MEDICATION ON THE FLOOR, in front of the veterinary hospital, the place that might be infested with worms and bacteria. Also, when my cat came out, they said they were unable to examine him BECAUSE HE WAS HISSING! Could you imagine a vet that can't touch cats due to their hissing? Moreover, our cat is usually very calm and gentle (he's a ragdoll), so I wonder what they were doing to him to make him angry at them. To sum up, after a worm check exam that cost me 150 USD, I still don't know if my cat has worms or not. Also, they charged me 20 USD for a "free follow-up exam" since the vet that had previously checked our cat wasn't in (!). When I asked the manager why they charged us if they hadn't examine our cat, the manager said they had TRIED to examine the cat, so the fee was for their attempt. On top of that, my cat wasn't examined because he was hissing! Last but not least, the deworming medication was left on the ground so it might be safer not to give it to our cat.
