I called *********'s Plumbing to fix a shower leak ( 10/6/23) and reinstall the shower handle. Without quoting a price, they put a cartridge in and fixed the handle. For this they charged me $375. When they left I noticed it was still leaking. I called them and they came back and said to fix it it would be over $1000.00. I paid the $375 to fix the leak and put the handle back on. If initially they quoted the $375 to put the handle back on and attempt to fix the leak with the cartridge I would have refused the service. In my opinion they are a dishonest company and I'd like at least 1/2 my money back because they did not fix the problem they were hired to fix. Also, others need to know what kind of company they are.Business response

We completely disagree with what the customer is saying. We have been to his house several times and every single time he ******* and dimes as asking for discount after discount. In this particular situation he was advised that the price of the repair would be $375 and he AGREED TO IT. He was also told that if it DID NOT WORK then the next step would be to install a shower valve in which we could give him a credit on. Unfortunately the shower cartridge did not work and therefor we offered him a new shower valve at a discount. The customer does not want to pay for anything and has already challenged the charge on his credit card. He does not respect our time and does not want to pay for anything even though we attempted to help him. We are refusing to service him because he is not willing to pay for what needs to be done. Instead he wants to tell us what to do and everything has to be done at a super discount. At this point it is not worth our time to deal with this unreasonable person.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: First of all, they didn't give me a price to fix the problem. They worked on the issue AND then gave me the price. So I wasn't given a price until they were finished. I would have NEVER agreed for them to do the work for $375 if they couldn't guarantee that they would fix the problem. Who would? I would have called another plumber that could guarantee to fix the problem. They were called because the shower leaked and after they replaced the cartridge I noticed later that afternoon that it was still leaking. Therefore, they charged me $375 for an issue that they didn't fix. Also, according to the credit card company they said I signed for the work. I never did and have the receipt to prove it. Several weeks later I called a handyman. He took off the cartridge that they installed ( which didn't seem like it was new and he showed me a part of it that was broken). He then installed a new cartridge that works perfectly. Therefore in my opinion, they either don't understand how to fix a shower faucet or installed a defective cartridge in order to try to make around $1,000 to replace a valve, which of course wasn't needed. They are not honest and you can read plenty of reviews on them that indicate what I am saying.

We have been to this customers house several times already
He full understand the situation that was explained to him and he does not respect our time
We will not be refunding him in this situation unfortunately for him and that is our final position

I am rejecting this response because: We are going back and forth and you see they never address what I have said about fixing the problem. If the BBB stands for anything you will pull your accreditation for them. They did not fix the problem and I later found that they put a broken part in my shower and then tried to get me to spend over 1k to fix the problem that a handyman came in and replaced their broken "new" part with a new one and fixed the problem. In my opinion they are either dishonest or incompetent, probably both. I hope you pull their accreditation so others won't have the problems that I had. A good business would have contacted me to try to solve the problem. At the beginning I left 3 messages for them to call me and they never did. They are not worthy of the BBB. What the BBB chooses to do will be of great interest to me as to the legitimacy of the BBB.

Not sure what the customer is complaining about. Customer was given a warranty and our copnay honored the warranty. We went back out there and resolved the issue and they were not charged
So for them to complain on here makes no sense to me
