Now that I work on the ********** I will be coming to Tahoe/******* every few months for business so was also hoping to get a feel for local restaurants in the area. My husband and I chose the restaurant because we were hungry and the menu looked enticing. We came in around 5pm on June 17th. First thing we noticed was that the place had a nice atmosphere and I liked the heaters outside and the window seating. But it went downhill from there. We asked that our salad come out first as we were super hungry. The salad never came out, It came out with the food - which was a bit frustrating. By the time the food came out we were even more hungry it took quite awhile (20 mins for a burger and mussels) especially for being there that early at 5pm.The mussels were good and my husband got a burger which was supposed to be cooked medium rare (warm red center). It was fully well done - wish I took a photo I guess?! Youll understand why shortly. My husband didnt want to say anything, and walked across the street to the store without finishing his dinner. So I kindly asked the waitress to take the burger off the bill as it was fully cooked throughout. ******** looked at it and agreed. ******** informed the manager who came over to me and started arguing with me in front of everyone super loud, raising his voice, being sarcastic, trying to embarass me but only embarassed himself Over $13. I couldnt even believe the things he was saying - he tried saying he was going to bring the burger back over to show me that there was some pink on it. I ate some of the burger as my husband didnt want the rest of it there was not even a TINY spot of pink on this burger, it was fully cooked throughout, and Im sure this is not the first time this has happened.He was yelling and harassing me in front of all of their guests. I told him I would pay for it, as I wasnt going to stoop to his level and yell back, and he kept arguing even after that saying the burger was mostly eaten no kidding. We were starving, and the salad never came out, and the waitress never checked on us. After the whole manager incident, The waitress came over and said she was so sorry, she would have taken it off if it were her I believed her. The manager probably harasses all of the customers and employees. I gave her a full 20% tip even though she really didnt deserve it, but I used to be a server in college so I feel for her. This was a horrible, frightening experience. I am requesting a full refund if the owner feels its warranted (I do) and I also believe this is a training opportunity for management.
