Signed a lease with Tahoe Lake Love on 5/19/23 for a rental property in Tahoe City (**** Alpine Tahoe City ** *****) for a 4-week rental from 2/9/24-3/11/24, and paid $8500 of the full $9000 rental cost upfront as requested by Tahoe Lake Love. We found Tahoe Lake Love listing through Airbnb and were requested to complete the transaction off Airbnb and directly with the company to avoid Airbnb fees. Tahoe Lake Love filed for bankruptcy 6/10/23, and since we signed the lease has not informed us of the bankruptcy or any financial issues. Have tried repeatedly over the last few months to get in contact to get more details about the upcoming lease to no avail. Unable to request a refund considering it is unlikely that we will be able to use this rental unit for the lease term given Tahoe Lake Love's ongoing financial situation and lack of communication. Based on recent Yelp reviews, other customers are going through similar situations of having made payments for services but now getting no responses or communication from Tahoe Lake Love to fulfill these services.Initial Complaint

On December 19, I paid ************* of the Water Traveler at the website LakeTahoeLove $3999 for a boat charter to the **************************. On the day of our departure, December 23, *** and her partner ***** could not get the charter boat started so the trip was canceled. As of today, January 9, I have still not received a refund. I have reached out to both *** and ***** multiple times and have been getting the run around. I am including a promissory note from the above business explaining their promise to have this refund in my pocket by 5pm on January 8. Obviously this promise has been broken.Initial Complaint

I rented a house for a week in Lake Tahoe from this rental company. I saw the original listing on Airbnb but they suggested I book through their site. After I booked through their site, I immediately noticed that I was charged a $350 per fee but I dont own a pet. I emailed them right away and they said they would refund it. We stayed in the house a month later and I noticed they still charged us the full amount. I contacted them again about it and they said they would refund. After not seeing a refund I contacted them multiple times to request a refund, and they never did, started to get unresponsive. I am now 3-4 months after my initial flag of this issue and they have not given me my money that they never deserved to have in the first place.
