2/05/2023 At 2:35 pm I went in to eat. After ordering, the person at the cash register told me how much, $46.98. I paid with my debit card. Received two receipts. Gave him a cash tip and we sat down, waiting to eat. All said and done, we left and headed home. When I got home I checked my receipts and found they charged me an, Non-cash adjustment of a $1.40. In the Check Closed Receipt he gave me, no where does it say anything about this charge. And he never mentions it during our transaction. The first receipt says payment $46.98. With $0.00 change due. But the Credit Sale receipt shows a charge of $48.38, with the Non-cash adjustment. This has to be against the law. I wasn’t even informed about it. Can someone please explain to me if this is legal?? And if not, how do we get them to stop doing this to customers??Business response

I reached out to our customer *****, on Thursday March 2nd and today, Friday March 3rd. I left a voicemail both times in hopes that he has a chance to call me back so that I can answer any questions he may have in regards to our credit card service fee.We do apply a small service fee to all credit card transactions. All of our customers order and pay up at our front counter in which we do have signage posted during all business hours, indicating the service fee on our credit card transactions.Business response
