**** St. ***** and his company are scamming my partner and I out of $8,118.00. We contracted **** to demo our floors, haul the demo, purchase materials, and install our new LVP floors in the home we just purchased on **********************************. I have attached the contract/description of work that **** sent us for signature. This job was supposed to start on 5/6 and be finished before my partner and I moved in on 5/30. We had my uncle ******************* pay **** $2,000 for the deposit on 4/27 via Zelle. **** informed my uncle that we needed to pay for the materials as well. I proceeded to send **** 3 separate payments since we currently live in ********* via ***** and CashAPP. The 1st payment of $2,000 was sent on 5/2. The second for $2,000 on 5/3. And the third payment of $2,118 totaling $8,118.00 that was stolen. On 5/5, **** confirmed we were set to start the demo on 5/6 as planned. **** never showed up. On 5/6, **** did not show either. He apologized on 5/7 and said that they will be there on 5/8. On 5/8, **** did not show up. **** finally showed up on 5/9 and did a VERY POOR job. **** did not finish the demo, haul the demo away, and also put a big whole in our bathroom wall. **** also did not bring the materials to our house on 5/9 as promised nor did we ever receive them. We agreed that **** would have the demo finished by 5/13 so that everything was ready for our painter. **** never stopped by and finished the demo. Since 5/9, **** has been VERY HARD to get ahold of. He never responds to phone calls, emails, or text messages. His phone was even turned off from 5/15 - 5/18 with 0 communication. We are a requesting a full refund of $8,118 as **** did not do what we paid him to do. He did not finish the demo, drop our materials off, and has officially ghosted us.

On 4/4/22 *********************************** owner of Carpet Man Flooring provided a quote to us for tile demo and vinyl flooring install totaling $6,111.00 for a remodel scheduled August 2022. On 4/26/22 we were asked to pay $3,000.00 deposit which we did the same day by Check #***. The remodel began on August 10, 2022 and Carpet Man Flooring was scheduled to begin demo on August 12, 2022. Our project manager reached out to him with no response. We reached out to him with no response. The night before the work was to begin, he contacted the project manager and stated that he couldn't find anybody to do the work. He was asked if he had the flooring as we would need to find someone to do demo and install. He stated that he did not and would need to order however he was on COD so he was not sure how long it would take. As this was unacceptable as the remodel schedule would be held up waiting for the materials he should have ordered in April. We contacted him the next day and left him a message to please return our deposit as we were forced to get new quotes and was working on a tight schedule. He did not return or respond to our call. We were able to secure a company who was willing to do the demo and install (as well as pick up the material) however it was $1,707.00 more which we had no choice. I called again and left a message and asked that he at least give us payments of $500 until paid. He eventually responded and stated that he was doing the best he could and did not have it. I text him with a demand which he ignored. 10 days later I text him and let him know we offered payments and a couple weeks however he was not responding. To date he has still not responded.
