    ** October of 2022 I took my car to Lopez Automotive because it wasn't getting enough power to start. Lopez told me that it would only be around 200$. He then came back and told me he had found the problem, and it was an old after-market alarm system that was causing the problem. He said he was able to rip out the old alarm and the car went right back to starting up. He charged me 450$, at which I asked why it was so expensive, when he told me that all he had to do was rip out this old wiring that was hanging down on the ground. After being confronted, he then lowered the price to 400$ on the spot. I felt like I was being ripped off, but my car was fixed, and I paid him and went about my life. Four months later, in March 2023, the exact same thing started happening. So, believing it was the same problem, I called back Lopez Automotive, and he told me to bring it in, and if it was the same issue, it would be under warranty. When he called me back to let me know what the issue was, he told me that it was now my clutch that was corroded and showed me the issue. It was a 1-inch-thick metal hinge that was completely worn down exposing the connection to the clutch pedal and he was charging me 500$ this time. I asked why this wasn't fixed before and he told me it was new wear and tear and that there was only a "little play" in the hinge before, but that it had been worn down in the 4 months since he fixed it. There is absolutely NO WAY that happened in 4 months after he fixed the car. After talking with another mechanic, I was assured there was no way this was legitimate, and he was taking advantage of me not knowing anything about cars. I believe I overpaid to begin with, but now I feel like I paid double for the work that should have been completed to begin with. This claim is to get a refund on the last repair made by Lopez for 500$ and possibly for him to be fined or talked to for taking advantage of my situation. This should have been covered under warranty.
