    I prepaid to book a room at Quality Inn, *****, for June 12 using hotels.com. The listing featured an on-site pool with pictures showing a pool that contained water. Total cost: $69.25.I checked in at 3 pm, paid a $3 fee. Before going to the room, I went to see the pool, which contained no water. I returned to the check-in counter & was told the pump was not functioning. I requested a refund. I was told the booking was nonrefundable & I would have to contact hotels.com. The hotel clerk issued a refund for the $3 fee. I returned the room key without entering the room and left Quality Inn to find other accommodation.Hotels.com agreed to contact Quality Inn to negotiate a refund. I booked a room at a nearby hotel with a pool at a significant increase in cost due to the last-minute reservation. (I paid $246.77 for this room.)Hotels.com tried over several days to contact the hotel and to convince the hotel to waive the nonrefundable status of the booking due to false advertising. The hotel refused.I am submitting this complaint because I believe Quality Inn has broken the law by falsely advertising a pool as an amenity when no pool was available for use. This complaints meets the following criteria listed in the False Advertising Law in **********:(a) the advertising was false or misleading; (b) the falsity was material (the hotel lied about something important)(c) I (the consumer) saw the false advertisement; (d) I (the consumer) relied on the false advertising in purchasing the product or service. I would not have purchased the booking if the property had been advertised accurately. The lack of pool caused me to have to pay more for a room that did include a pool. I have now paid a total of $316.02 instead of the original $69.25.
