Fidelity Home Warranty claim #s ******* & ******* Dates of Transaction: Initial appt 7/24/23, first visit 7/28/23, follow-up visit 8/04/23 Service fee of $85.00 was paid to my home warranty company: Fidelity National Home Warranty who contracted Unified Contractors, *** to come out and repair a leaking valve or pipe fitting on my hot tub. The motor is mounted in my garage, the floor wet. the initial appointment which was between 1-4pm on 7/24/23. At 2:**** I received a text from the dispatcher that they had to reschedule for Friday 7/28/23 the tech said leak was loose pipes and the tightened the pipe. He said the control panel was not working. He said the hot tub would still function properly. He said he would put in a report to have panel replaced. He took pics and left. I noticed water leaking from the motor again. Fidelity Home Warranty said they were closing my claim because Unified said the panel failure was due to secondary damage told rep that the service call was not for the panel, it was for the leaking motor that was still leaking rep set up for Unified Contractors to repair the leak. The tech came back on Friday 8/04/23 and said that the pipe was cracked He said he would be back on Monday to replace pipe as he did not have one that size in his truck. Monday I received a call from Fidelity Home Warranty stating that the Unified Contractors report stated secondary damage for the leak and they denied my claim again, Almost all the yelp reviews for Unified Contractors stated their home warranty claims were denied as the reports submitted by Unified Contractors claimed secondary damage I have attempted multiple times to get in touch with Unified Contractors to get a copy of the reports or an invoice and they have not returned any calls or texts. I am also filing a complaint against Fidelity Home Warranty as I dont feel my claim was handed in a professional way by either party.

My home warranty company (Fidelity National Home Warranty) contracted Unified Contractors to address a malfunctioning hot tub circulation pump. For reference, the pump has two speeds, low for circulation and high for jets. The low speed function is controlled by the timer, while the high speed is controlled by an air switch. When the timer turns the pump on, a click is heard and the motor hums, indicating that the motor is energized. However, the motor and pump do not begin to turn (this is the issue I reported). When the air switch is pressed, the pump runs at high speed as expected. The tech did some investigation, then took a video of the situation and left, saying that his supervisor needed to evaluate. Unified Contractors subsequently gave an at least inaccurate, if not dishonest, report to the home warranty company, citing the air switch (which was demonstrated to work in the video!) as the cause. Of course, repair of the switch is not covered, not that it matters, as the switch is not broken. Maybe there's some kind of misunderstanding, but Unified Contractors did not follow up with me after leaving and has been unresponsive to my calls. This stinks of some kind of scam.

We were dispatch this claim # 90****8 via Fidelity N******* H*** W******* (FNHW). Please see screenshot of email  When service claim is submitted to FNHW service call is dispatched to a service provider.  On day of appointment service tech will diagnose the issue, take necessary pictures,  submit the report along with the pictures to the authorizations department at FNHW.   Once the report is submitted, the claim is under review.  The main decision maker of the policy is FNHW.  We have no say in any coverage, if we have approval we will move forward with any repairs that are covered under the policy.   In this case we were not given authorization to move forward to finish servicing the claim.  The claim is then completed & we are done with the claim.  Any & all coverage questions must be directed to FNHW.

This claim what the homeowner reported is inaccurate. Here is what my tech reported. We just report. the warranty makes the final decision. they denied the claim as they did not cover the controller.

ISSUE: When h/o turns on pump at timer, the pump does a humming sound as if not enough power. But once you turn the air flow switch on. The pump kicks on. When you press air flow switch again it goes into low speed. Issue is with timer. Short. This timer isn’t covered by warranty.

I am rejecting this response because:

      Hi Li*****,

Thank you very much. Please see the image below for what the h*** w******y company (F******* N******* H*** W******y) claims that the contractor reported, which was that there was s*** issue with the air switch for our hot tub. This is inconsistent with the claim reported by the contractor. Additionally, please see the video at the link, which shows that the issue is with the motor itself, rather than with the timer (as reported by the contractor), or with the air switch and tubing (as reported by F******* N******* H*** W******y).

Tech ****** was late to both appt scheduled. When he finally arrived hours later he basically did nothing to confirm that kitchen fan was malfunctioning. He said because the item turned on when he was there the issue was fixed. The claim that was filed said that the item worked at times and at times did not. When I asked that he please at the very least fixed the light that is attached to the fan he said NO, only one claim at a time. When it is all one unit. He also said that by praying to god he had corrected thecissue and the fan turned on. This man was rude and condescending in my home. If you research their complaints they are terrible at providing service, how is this ok? They are only ripping people off.

Hello BBB, I am filing a complaint against Unified Contractors Incorporated (So Cal). I purchased a home October 2022. The swimming pool does not heat up and has never heated up. First American Home Warranty sent out their employee *****. ***** came out on November 6, 2022 and in total three times to check the pool; he had me turn on the heater prior to his arrival for 30-60 minutes so that he could see if the heater was working efficiently. He stated the pool heater was fine. 3-4 weeks after that the heater was not heating the pool and I called for another home visit. I then had to pay another $85.00 for each request placed. ***** came out again to follow up because I called and informed the company that the pool was still not heating up at all. He said it was fine. On December 22, 2022, ***** again came out and verbally admitted to me and my son; who was home on Christmas break; that the heater was not working and there was an issue with the heating source making contact with some other technical jargon. I had not heard from this company since that day. I received an email today denying the claim. because this guy ***** said there was "Secondary damage." That is completely false, and this company is unscrupulous and lying to customers. I am the new homeowner and I have only been in the pool once since October because of the COLD temperature. First American Home Warranty continues to use this company to avoid paying out claims or making repairs or replacements. I will place a separate complaint on them as well.

This is the company that American home shield sent out to look at my pool pump that was leaking. A guy named Robert showed up at my home, spent a total of 5 minutes at my home didn’t even talk to me once! Looked at the pool pump and left. He the blatantly lied and falsified on his report to American home shield telling them that there were “chemicals “ on my pool pump! Therefore causing American home shield to deny my claim! I have my pool serviced weekly and because I had a leak and was losing a lot of water and having to fill it more often, which would be why I contacted my home warranty people! That so called chemicals are calcium build up over the water coming out of my pump! And no one will return any phone calls to me from this company! They aren’t even listed as a pool company! I think this is a scam between this company and American home shield so that they can falsify documents and avoid paying out for equipment that is need of repair! I will be looking into taking both companies to court over this matter! Bait and switch at its finest!

This company was hired by First American Home Warranty in September 2021 to fix a ceiling fan. They were unable to fix the ceiling fan, so they said they can replace it or offer a cash out so I can purchase one on my own. They offered me $70 for the cash out. This is not enough money to purchase a fan, let alone purchase and get one installed, so I reached out to have them replace my fan. The female who answered said no problem and she was going to call me later to schedule the replacement. I never heard back from her or anyone at this company. I have tried unsuccessfully to reach this company once a week for the last 9 weeks. I have left multiple messages. The warranty company has also tried, and still no luck.

We are trying to repair an electrical ceiling fan. A technician from this company came out once. He could not repair it and needed to get parts. After a week of not hearing from United Contractors (UC) we attempted to call to find out the status of repairs 5 times over the course of a week. Additionally, we sent an email, receiving no response to all efforts. Yesterday we received a text asking if they could send out a technician for the next day. Although we responded yes to the request via text, the text came back "undeliverable" after 4 attempted tries. Subsequently we called and have left more messages requesting a return call and verification of followup. The insurance company, AHS is the company who sent UC to resolve our issue. We contacted AHS and informed them of our problem and they said they would send a text to UC requesting that UC follow up with us. It has been an extremely frustrating experience. Please have them contact us via phone.
