      This is a "GetRentToOwn" housing in your area website you pay $1 for seven days then $49.69 every month thereafter. There's a ***** number to call to cancel. You are NOT allowed to email or mail your calcellation. I have tried calling twice, no answer, just ring ring ring. I tried email at their "Contact me". Once it did not go through, today May 31st 2024, it again refused to send. How can I cancel if I can not get ahold of anyone or Noone can contact me? However, they have no problem taking $49.69 from my checking each month...last 3 months, but wont take a phone call and refuse other communications. This company needs investigated by the ************************ sued by banks for deliberate fraud and class action lawsuit for stress, frustration they put people through, deliberately. Someone needs to shut these people down for false advertisement.

      In response to the complaint, our findings show that on 02/28/2024, the customer successfully enrolled in a ***** $1.00 trial membership to GetRentToOwn.com.  The customer did not contact us during the trial period to cancel the membership, as per the membership agreement that the customer acknowledged.  At the end of the trial, we charged the credit card on file for the monthly membership.  These details, including trial length, trial price, the monthly membership fee, and cancellation process, are clearly stated on the signup page, our Terms and Conditions page, and the Welcome Email sent out immediately upon sign-up.  


      In the complaint, the customer stated that she had difficulty canceling her membership and that you are not allowed to email or mail your cancellation.  The customer also stated that she tried calling multiple times with no answer and had tried to email her cancellation through the Contact Us but the emails did not go through. We have checked both the customer service phone number and the Contact Us email and have found that both are in working order.  
      The customer also stated that she tried to call us multiple times, however our records show that we only received 1 call from the customer on 5/31/2024.  Our records indicate that the account was canceled at that time per the customer's request.


      We offer customers multiple options to cancel their membership by contacting our customer service center during business hours, 7 days a week, emailing us anytime to cancel their service, or by using our online Contact Us page to cancel. 


      A one-time courtesy we have issued a refund. No further action is required.  Please contact us if you have additional questions.

      I clicked on a ade online to view a house listed on their website "renttoown.com" just to view the details of a alleged rental property. After trying to get details where they asked for my email address to send me the information, but NEVER stated it would be a $49.00 fee. Days later, I get notifications from my PayPal account that renttoown.com is trying to bill my account but they thought it may be fraudulent; so they declined it. I contacted them to make sure they continue to do so and that they were correct. They told me how to go into my account and set up alerts and how to continue to block them. Weeks later I got a call from someone at Rent to Own about sending me information and I stated to them my concerns; and that I don't want any information from them. I told them to remove any information on me out of they system, including any account information they obtained illegally on me and NEVER call me or try to bill me for information I didn't request. A week later and until to date they are still trying to bill my PayPal account and credit card fraudulently for something I NEVER requested or purchased; not did I ever receive. To date PayPal is still sending me notifications that they are still blocking attempts from them and I've had to remove all my credit card information, lock my account, and not able to use PayPal due to their continue attempts to fraudulently bill my account. How can this be stopped?

      In the customers complaint she states that after looking at a rental property ad on renttoown.com, she was asked for her email address to send her information and that days later she received notification from Paypal that renttowown.com was trying to bill her account. We have no association with renttoown.com, this is not our website and we do not offer Paypal as a payment option. We also have no record of this customer contacting us.

      I tried to cancel my subscription, I was charged $1 twice and the guy I was talking to wanted me to download an app and give him a code and I refused. He said the code was to cancel my subscription. Sounds like a scam! I have never had to do that before to cancel something. I hung up on him and he kept texting to send him this code to cancel. Going to call my bank and I locked my card. Do NOT TRUST THEM. Not sure if my subscription was ever canceled but I told the guy he can keep the $2. He also preceeded to tell me I was charged $2 and $9. My account did not show that so I knew hw was lying. BE CAREFUL if you call to cancel!

      There is no GetRentToOwn account under this name or telephone number.  We do not have a mobile app available for download. Please check your billing statement for correct name of company and contact number.

      I paid the $1 free trial online however my bank blocked the transaction and contacted me to confirm the payment. After rethinking, I declined the payment and it was never paid. Only to see, days after, a payment coming from my account for $49.60. This company is crooked. Even though the $1 payment was declined, they still went ahead to store your account details and remove funds from my account. When I went to cancel whatever they have on their database for me, the system is blocking me and you can't get them on the phone. Please ask these people to refund the money they pull from my account.

      Thank you for the opportunity to address the customer's concern.  The customer subscribed to a ***** $1 trial to GetRentToOwn on 10/19/2023.  We waived the $1 trial fee and granted the customer access to the website.  The customer was able to log into the account and view properties.

      The customer never contacted us to cancel the trial.  Customers may cancel by contacting our customer service center Monday - Sunday during business hours or by email using the Contact Us Form online.  As per the terms and conditions that she acknowledged, we collected the monthly subscription fee.

      The customer stated that she attempted to call us.  We have traced the telephone number, and our logs do not show any contact from the customer.  The customer also stated that the system prevented her from canceling the account.  We do not prevent customers from canceling accounts.  As mentioned previously, customers may call or email us to cancel the account.

      Although the fee is valid, we have provided the customer with a one-time courtesy refund.  Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

      I signed up for a free trial months ago. My card was charged **** at that time. I never even got any listing or anything. The next month they tried to take ***** from. account. My bank did not give them my money. They have tried repeatedly to take the *****. Today they charged only **** and it went thru. I have tried to call customer service to cancel with no success. This company will not allow you to cancel online.

      Thank you for the opportunity to address the customer's concern.  The customer subscribed to a ***** $1 trial to GetRentToOwn on 6/14/2023.  The customer never contacted us to cancel the trial.  Customers may cancel by contacting our customer service center Monday - Sunday during business hours or by email using the Contact Us Form online. 

      As per the terms and conditions that she acknowledged, we attempted to collect the subscription fee after the trial period expired.  We were only able to process a partial subscription successfully.

      The customer stated that she attempted to call us.  We have traced the telephone number, and our logs show that she did call us once on 10/1/2023 and twice on 10/27/2023.  The calls were disconnected after waiting less than a minute in the queue.  We have no reported system issues on these days.

      We apologize for any inconvenience.  We have canceled the account and refunded the most recent charge.  Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

      I signed up for get rent to own and when I decided that I wanted to cancel it because it wasn't for me there's no way to actually cancel it they give you a number to call and no real person ever answers they just try to sell you stuff and then they keep charging my account $49.60 every single day I just want this to be over I want them to not be able to charge my account

      Thank you for the opportunity to address the customer's concern. The customer subscribed to a *****  $1 trial to GetRentToOwn and $2 additional listings and a RTO contract on 9/20/2023.  The customer never contacted us to cancel the trial.  As per the terms and conditions, that she acknowledged, we attempted to collect the monthly subscription fee.  The credit card was declined. The customer has only been charged the $1 trial and the $2 additional listings and RTO contract fees. 

      Customers may contact our customer service center during business hours or email us anytime to cancel their service.  Our customer service center contact number and email can be found on our website.  We also provide our contact information in our Welcome Email that is sent immediately after registration for the trial. In addition, our contact number is located next to the transaction on her monthly credit card statement. 

      As a one-time courtesy, we have refunded the $2 additional listings and RTO contract fee.  The account has been closed. No further action is required.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

      I went to cancel my temporary membership before the time period ended. I was not able to do this online, I was directed to call *************. I called during business hours on Saturday and Sunday. The call hung up after telling me to call back during business hours. I tried again online with no success. This company wont let me cancel and has charged my account twice in the last two days.

      Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the customer's concern.  The customer established the account on 7/8/2023.  She subscribed to a 7-day trial of our service.  We have no record of the cancellation before the expiration of the trial.  If the customer had canceled, she would have been immediately sent a cancellation email with a confirmation number.  

      We track all incoming calls and emails.  The only call from this telephone number was on 7/16/2023.  The customer disconnected the call before speaking to a representative.  We are not aware of any problems with our telephone system during this period.

      As a one-time courtesy, we have refunded the membership fees.  Please let us know if you require further information.

      Thank you for the opportunity to address the customer's concern.  The customer subscribed to a ***** $1 trial to GetRentToOwn on 3/13/2023.  The customer never contacted us to cancel the trial.  As per the terms and conditions that she acknowledged, she was charged the monthly fee of  $49.60. 
      The customer claims that she never enrolled.  In order to enroll in the trial, the customer would have to click the accept the membership terms and conditions.  The terms and conditions clearly state that you must cancel within 7 days to avoid our membership fee.  The customer must also enter a valid credit card number and the *** code to finalize the registration.  There is no way that we would know this information without the customer providing it.  After the registration is completed, we immediately send a Welcome email summarizing all the important terms of the membership, including how to cancel.

      Although the charges were valid, we have issued a one-month courtesy credit of $49.60 on 4/3/2023. We contacted customer and left message that we provided a courtesy credit.


      Note: our representative was unable to locate the account due to two digits of the telephone numbers being transposed during the customer's online registration.

      Fraudulent company. I never signed up for this but somehow they gained access to my credit card or bank and started charging $49.60 per month. When I called them they told me I had *no choice* but to provide my FULL credit card number over the phone in order to "cancel my account" (that I never signed up for). Fraudulent and predatory. Possibly a scam to steal peoples' credit cards and personal information. BEWARE!
