Ameco recently sent me an invoice for a "cancelation fee", after they were the ones that defaulted on the agreement by disappearing on me, I called numerous times and got no call back, I sent emails and got no response as well this work should have been done July 2022, but they disappeared and now in May of 2023, they send me a bill, I spoke to accounting today and was told I signed an agreement, they couldn't answer which agreement since there was 3 different times I signed something with them and 3 different reps and 1 estimate given to me, the last rep ************************* told me not to worry after I informed him via phone that I ended up getting the my roof done by a responsive contractor, This was a process that was months if not a year, and I couldn't wait for them any longer.Business response

We saw a couple of missed calls from the customer, i also saw one of my team members tried calling back and did not get an answer.
my sales manager emailed him a full reply to each concern he has and we are willing to work with the customer on making him happy. His concerns are valid but not due to our misevaluation:
from the email:
Contact Moving Forward
You had mentioned not being able to get ahold of anyone at AMECO. Per our phone records, we missed a few of your calls. Then, we tried giving you a call back , but we missed you.
For any support issues moving forward, I would advise you to contact **************************************** You can also contact me by email for assistance.
Usage + 30% Increase
You referenced in your BBB review that your system was sized for your last 12 months' electricity usage as well as 30% increase in usage. On the proposal and contract, I see 613 kWh per month, which is ***** kWh annually.
Based on the bill you provided ******, I calculated approximately ***** kWh annually. Add each number (monthly average) and multiply by 30 (avg days/month) and the total is around ***** kWh. To increase usage by 30% would mean a system that produces ***** kWh annually. Given that we're extrapolating figures from a bar chart and not using exact data, a 5% variance from my calculations seems reasonable from ******.
Current System Performance
Per your contract, your system has the following specifications:
System Size: ***** *****
Year 1 Production Range: ***** - ***** kWh
From November 16, 2021 - November 15, 2022, your system produced ***** kWh, which is well within your production range.
The system is functioning as normal as evidenced by the below chart from your monitoring portal:
Current Bill
On your BBB form, you indicated that the solar was only covering 60% of your consumption. Per the math above, your historical usage + 30% is ***** kWh - ***** kWh. Your system produced ***** kWh. Therefore, your system should have covered 90%-96% of your electricity consumption.
If you would like, please email me a copy of your most recent SCE bill. There's a chance that your usage increased beyond the 30% increse, but I can only tell by reviewing your bill.
Solutions
If your usage has increased, we would be happy to come out and install some additional panels at cost. But first, send me the copy of your bill for review.
If you'd like to get on a call tomorrow, I will be working (provided the electricity doesn't go out during the storm). Else, I'm happy to get on a call when I'm back in the office next Tuesday.
Warm Regards and Happy Holidays!Initial Complaint

Solar system install. Contract dtd 6/25/22. After numerous problems, system inspected and approved 10/13/22. Final pmt on $30,000 cost made 10/13/22. Ameco has as of 10/31/22 1) not completed Permission to Operate (PTO) such that I cannot use nor benefit from the system; 2) Ameco has not set up the System monitoring app and I cannot, therefore, verify that the system is operating as specified; 3) Ameco has not replaced a broken tile on the roof which will lead to a roof leak when the rains start; 4) Window broken during installation (10/12/22) has not been repaired as of 10/31/22; Ameco used an unqualified subcontractor without my knowledge. The contractor was qualified for electrical work but not roofing. Significant damage was done to my roof during installation.Business response

When I had solar panels installed, I also paid for installation of a level two charger. Ameco accepted payment for the charger and installed the box, but not the cable. After much delay due to labor problems and poor communication on their end, the job was finished in ****** with the exception of the charger. ******* ****** at Ameco indicated that cables were backordered. She never emailed or called with an update on the backorder unless I reached out multiple times. She informed me on June 29 that cables had arrived and that installers would "get you on the schedule asap." After I hadn't heard anything for a week, I emailed and called several times on **** 5 for an update. ******* gave a vague reply about getting the installation scheduled. I emailed on the morning of July 12 for an update and got no reply. I called on the afternoon of **** ** and left a message, but received no reply. I have lost months of fast charging and have spent hours on the phone and composing emails. I have no idea when Ameco will finally complete the installation. I can provide the sales receipt if necessary, but I know Ameco will not dispute that I paid for thisthey'll just offer another of their endless excuses about why they can't fulfill their legal obligation for something I have already paid for. They are undoubtedly prioritizing more lucrative jobs. I'm attaching a PDF of our email exchangesyou can see how much I had to initiate. I could also supply a call log, if that would be helpful.Business response

Consumer Response /* (2000, 21, 2022/11/03) */ Ameco finally finished the job. I think pressure from BBB helped, even if they never responded to you. Thank you!Initial Complaint

My husband and I are have been having continued problems with Ameco solar since the beginning of the project for solar on our house. This 5 month process has been a nightmare that has come to head today when they sent a technician out to our house this morning to install a breaker that was supposed to be installed last week. This technician came out unannounced and said this was for *** inspection, when I spoke with our project manager, she said that is not what this is for. This breaker is also for safety that is required by code and is currently not on our solar system that is working on our house. This ****** breaker is in our contract and we had no idea it was not there, we are also being charged extra for this and it was not in our original contract. Not only has this company delayed our project by 4 weeks in the beginning for the permitting process, they still have yet to complete the job with inspection. We have been working with them since January. Their answers and approach to this whole project we are spending over $36000 on is subpar. They do not care about the consumer or even completing the job in a timely and safe matter. My husband and I have taken numerous days off work to manage this and keep getting the runaround. We are very unsatisfied with their lack of communication and effort to solve this problem. We do not know when this job will be done or inspected. We have several email chains as well documenting their lack of action and effort to resolve.Business response

We signed the contract in Late **** and 8 months later we have recently got the panels installed but yet to gain approval from ****** to operate. All the delays have been from constant feet dragging on amecos part i managed to retrieve the timelines from the city which showed months of gaps where the city had either approved or requested changes to plans and nothing was happening from Amecos part Throughout the whole process the project manager that was assigned to us was useless I think he has actually unprompted followed up with an update once... and I am trying to get updates off them at least every couple of weeks. At this point i just want to be done with it but again feet dragging delaying me actually fully utilizing the system and i have to ufortunatly still deal with this company When the installation was done the installers left the worksite in a complete state and they had to come back to haul away extra trash and dirt from the install that was abandoned in my yard... All i want is them to speed up the last parts of the process so i no longer have to deal with them as I am kind of tired of always chasing them up after 8 months (when it was suppoed to be 3-4)Business response
