I contacted a broker to help me get health insurance for me and my daughter. He found a policy that would work for me and connected me with them. The woman that I spoke to regarding a health coverage plan told me that since I was outside the enrollment period I could not be put on the plan. She asked that I supply documentation to make an exception for enrolling outside the plan, which I could not provide. We ended the call and I didn't think about it again. I never received any physical mail regarding this plan, or an email, or phone calls. I was checking in on my statements and saw that I have 3 charges from AMEMBERBILL.COM 03/14/2024 $211.99 04/17/2024 $112 05/01/2024 $99.99 I called the number and they agreed to cancel my policy but are unwilling to refund. Not only was I not aware I was on this policy but these charges are all on different days and for different amounts. Again I was told that because I was outside their enrollment period I could not be signed up for this plan. I also didn't receive any further calls, texts, emails, or physical mail to make me believe I had in fact been signed up for something.

Through my husbands military service we had dental insurance through United Concordia. While stationed in *******, I went in to one of the chosen dentists I was allowed to go to through United Concordia for a routine cleaning and the dentist ended up doing multiple fillings, all of those fillings fell out within a couple of weeks. I contacted the insurance company to let them know I needed them replaced to which they proceeded to tell me I could not because I received root canals not fillings and had also reached my cap for the year in dental insurance coverage because of it. I also was forced to pay a deductible for a root canal not fillings. I went back and forth with them for a year to replace the fillings and that i had not received any root canals which they proceeded to tell me I was lying and the that the dentist said I did. Our family had no money to replace the fillings ourselves that had fallen out. As a result from exposed holes in my teeth my entire mouth got infected and I lost my teeth which also has affected my entire health and being able to eat to this day. When I got back to the states I went to a dentist and had them send an xray to the insurance company showing I had never received a root canal since the damage f on the German dentist now requires thousands and thousands of dollars of repair that my family did not have to which the insurance company replied that it was a typing error saying I had a root canal on their end which is a lie I had spoken to them by phone and through correspondence on their system multiple times, and also that now I owed the dentist more money when I had overpaid that dentist to begin with as I paid for root canals not fillings. Because of this insurance company my teeth have been destroyed and fallen out, I cannot eat normal and my entire bodies health has been affected from the infection.

Recent enrollee in the Federal dental program. I wish to ************** Federal employees or military retirees of the issues they will encounter with United Concordia's dental insurance program (****).**** has been repeatedly lowering the amount it will pay claims via reducing the range fees for covered dental procedures. Normally a plan will cover a fixed percentage of a dental procedure dependent on whether the provider is either in-network or out. Therefore the ultimate amount a customer will receive is a result of the fee range amount multiplied by the percentage payment.Using available BENEFED provider website information on dental costs estimates, I was able to determine that **** has set its range fees at around 50% of other participating providers (MetLife, BCBS, United Healthcare, etc) This is remarkable when you consider that all BENEFEDS providers have enrollment fees that are similar to each other (lots of provider competition for this large dental group consisting of Federal employees and retired military). In my specific case, I contacted **** for an estimate for dental procedure code D4261 (periodontal flap surgery). I was told ****** payment fee to providers was $393 (I would be responsible for 50% of that amount). When I checked the normal price range for this procedure in Orange County **. it was $1100; I was somewhat surprised by the low **** figure. In comparison, other BENEFEDS providers payment range fee figures for D4261 were in the $1100 to $1600 range, in line with public fees for this area. Amazing. How can **** justify charging almost as much as other dental providers for monthly enrollment fees while paying out 50% less to consumer for dental procedures? My primarily concern is for military retirees who sign up for **** to save a few dollars per month, only to find out they are being denied necessary dental care. **** will not provide fee payment amounts until you are enrolled. This payment fee schedule is shameful.

Purchased dental insurance on November 21, 2022 for a policy starting December 1, 2022. Upon completion of the purchase, I realized that United Concordia did not cover my specific dentist and it was extremely important for me to keep my dentist as I have extensive dental needs that he was able to meet. I called United Concordia approx 30 minutes after the purchase and cancelled the policy, explaining why and requesting a refund. I was informed that my policy was cancelled and that I would receive a refund of my cost- $941.94 within the next **** business days. I followed up on Jan 13th with an email but did not receive a response. Since then, every time I call I am on hold for approx 40 minutes and never given a solid answer as to when I will get my refund. Most recently, I spoke to a woman named ***** who informed me I would get my refund by the end of July, but I still have not received it. Additionally, she indicated I would not be receiving my full amount but rather half of it for cancelling the policy early, which was not something that was told to me when I cancelled, over 8 months ago. I was given *****'s email for follow up but she has not responded to my emails. I want to be refunded but this business is, through inaction and avoidance, refusing to give back money that I paid them for a service I never received. Can supply email correspondences and dates as needed.

My complaint is with United Concordia Tricare Dental Plan! I recently separated from the USAR and lost my eligibility on Tricare Benefits, Dental, Benefeds Vision, etc. I received a letter showing that my TDP plan lost its eligibility. When I separated, I contacted the United Concordia Tricare Customer Service number and I spoke with a representative and asked if I needed to do anything on my end to cancel the coverage. I was told no, when ***** sends over personal information and shows you're out of the military, the plan will automatically cancel out. Fine. This was around November 20-23. A few weeks later I call back to UCTD and I ask why do I keep seeing a bill, if my plan was canceled. I was told ***** is slow with updating or setting information, but I was assured my plan would automatically cancel out because I lost eligibility from not being in the military anymore. I was also told, to call ***** to verify and request for a letter showing I am ineligible. Fast forward to January 23, 2022. I was charged $315 for dental coverage by United Concordia!!! I called AGAIN to find out why I was being charged and why isn't my account canceled. I was then told by the rep, since I stopped drilling and went into the IRR status (out of my monthly obligation but in inactive military status) UCTD automatically enrolls me into an IRR Plan. She also advised to send an email explaining my issue (which I did) and request for a backdate of Dec 1 for a segment of coverage so I can get my refund. Firstly, I spoke to 2 representatives that assured me my plan was cancelled and they NEVER notated the case. I spoke to another representative the following day and then she said there was no record that I called in November. Then they told me if I can provide my phone records maybe they can help me! I sent those in. I asked for a supervisor that can help me, and I was told there is no one higher than her. That supervisor also said an escalations department does not exist! LIARSSSSSS

      Business response

      03/23/2022

Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2022/03/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I called to cancel the policy after being told it wasn't canceled from my original call in November. Of course it was canceled in March. I do not accept this response because you did not address the fact that I called in November to cancel and no one notated the case! Not even the second time I called in December. You're full of sugar honey ice tea and I would not recommend this business, company, or coverage to a person with no freaking teeth! LIARSS
