I had my bank send them a check 2 months in a row bc they do not accept routing numbers or account numbers. I had difficulty receiving my new debit card from my bank so this was my only option. The business decided to hang onto the check and not cash it until the 20th. It cleared my account and then (according to my bank) they sent it back. I then receive an email stating my acont was over do and my check was NOn sufficient funds. I spoje to my bank and there was funds which was forwarded to this business but the business turned around and returned the check. NO EXPLANATION AT ALL! THEY THEN CHARGED ME EXTRA FREES SO NOW THEY SAY I OWE THEM $107. No I don't. Is this a scam to make more money? I've been with them for years and this has never happened before but a new company bought them out. Is this a new policy to obtain more money

The company is not under new ownership. Per your rental agreement; Section 6 “If Occupant’s check is dishonored and returned, or if Occupant’s unit becomes subject to lien enforcement procedures under the Self-Service Storage Facilities Act, Occupant agrees to pay Owner, as additional rent, administrative charges as follows:” (See section 6 on your rental agreement for more information regarding the fees.) “The receipt of a check shall not be considered payment to Owner if the check is dishonored or not paid for any reason.”
Our records show that your check was given to the bank on the 16th of Feb. which is 1 week from the date it was received. We do not have an obligation to take checks to the bank daily. The check was sent back due to insufficient funds which is what made it a bounced check. If your check needed to be deposited by a certain day you could have relayed that information to the office staff. Please refer to your rental agreement or speak with office staff before filing complaints regarding items you signed/ initialed for during move in. Thank you.

I was given a 15 day eviction notice today. The reasons I was given are unfounded and simply not true. My access code has been deactivated and I must ask for access to enter or exit and only when the office is open. I am paid thru the end of the month. I do not owe any rent. I have never been given a Notice about any violations in the past for anything.. Just this surprise of my gate code deactivated and a written Notice to vacate in 15 days. This is ubsurd! I do not unsure! A problem moving but, I should not be restricted access when I paid for it. I think a reasonble amount of time to vacate would be 30 days like they request from me if I decide to move. I cannot vacate within 15 days due to circumstances beyond my control. I would like as a resolution 30 days to vacate and a refund for the restricted access that I have paid for.

      Dear R****** *****,

Our storage facility employees have given you verbal warnings many times in the past. As per our rental agreement you have violated the contract in which you signed which is why you were given an eviction notice. We do not agree to your terms. A 15 day notice of eviction is ample time to vacate especially for
a unit of that size. We are not asking for any money or anything that is not manageable or unreasonable. The limited access is far the safety, care, and cleanliness of the property as we do not know what you will or could do to the property when unsupervised. We would like you to vacate the premises as per
      our eviction letter states.

      Thank you,
      Freeway Mini Storage
