In February 2020 I took a car to this business in order for it to be restored. The manager Red Jones promised me my car would be restored within a year. It’s going over two and a half years and my car still isn’t even running. He made false promises to me. He also demanded that I give him money up front. I gave him $7500 down and I have the receipt for this. We never signed a contract because his original budget that HE* wanted me to spend on the car was $30k (him buying the parts) and I told him that was too much and I’d be buying the parts to save money. Last year, I informed him the budget on the car was $10k and that was the cap. When and if his worker worked on the car, I reminded them of the budget and I told them it was not to go over that. Last week I went in there to check the amount (budget) and Red tried to tell me the current charge on my car was $24k more on top of the $7500 I had given him. I was Stunned to say the least. I told him the budget was $10k and I don’t know what he didn’t call me when we were over that. He became aggressive and told me to give him $10k and take the car. This is a lot of money for me and overall I’m going to have to pay him $17,500 for a non running car. Again, he lied, he’s trying to take advantage of me possibly because I’m a female and there is no paperwork. I’d just like my car and the issue resolved peacefully without him taking advantage of me and bullying me. Thank you
