I had a terrible experience at Evans Tire in *********. I went for an oil change and they told me my car had an internal oil leak and that needed to be fixed before doing the oil change. I agreed and I paid $2034.23. When I drove my car the engine light was on, the engine idle was above 1200 rpm (should be 750); when I would release the gas pedal my car would shake. I went back 8 times and they didn't resolve the problems and lasty they wanted to charge me $500 for a new throttle. I took my car to the ***** dealer to fix all the problems that Evans caused. The valve cover that Evans had put was not the right one; the throttle that Evans wanted to charge me $500 was under warranty; they found the A/C wire connector broken and they found other things that Evans didn't take care of. Also I realized later that Evans tire had charged me $513.00 twice for the same service; they later reimbursed me.Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to Evans Tire in ********* and if they tell you that your car needs services go somewhere else for a 2nd opinion.Evans Tire & Service Centers Response

When in for a synthetic ************ change, tire rotation and road trip inspection. Worked completed in less than one hour. Before arriving I had marked one tire to verify that the rotation was completed. It was not. They reiterated that they were. The inspection consisted of a documented *************************************** It is highly unlikely that the extent of the inspection, oil change, tire rotation can be accomplished in the time there. The fluid levels were to be checked yet after arriving home I found two reservoirs were found to be low. Additionally, today I see that my credit card has been billed twice.Since the oil on the dipstick is clean I will give them credit for changing the oil (hopefully it is synthetic) but I have no idea if the filter was changed as it is a paper element and inaccessible. I have zero confidence that this shop performs to a level that deserves TRUST.Review from Mike B

They put good tires on my car but required $1400 in repairs. They also applied a $200 warranty I did not know about. Later I went back for an oil change which went fine. Except I asked that they install my wiper blades. They asked for $75 just to install the blades! I said no of courseEvans Tire & Service Centers Response

I recently had an encounter at Evans Tire on ************* that left me feeling uneasy and compelled to share my insights. There seemed to be a noticeable shift in their approach, veering towards persuasive tactics that suggested services and products beyond what seemed necessary. On one occasion, I was explicitly recommended to delay my visit due to the absence of a more experienced mechanic, a suggestion that came directly from ****. This struck me as undermining my confidence in their team's overall capability.Additionally, the pricing structure appeared markedly inflated. When expressing my knowledge of automotive care or questioning the necessity of recommended work, the response was unexpectedly dismissive and, at times, outright rude. This is a ***** contrast to my previous experiences, having entrusted them with my vehicle's care over the years, amounting to significant expenditure on my part.Regrettably, it appears that the ethos of the establishment has evolved. Where once I felt assured of their integrity and commitment to genuine service, there now seems to be a pivot towards exploiting the lack of automotive understanding among their clientele, aggressively upselling and capitalizing on the trust of unwary customers. This transformation is deeply disheartening, particularly given my long-standing relationship with them. Bought my car there for an oil change. They let a young, untrained technician change the oil on the vehicle. When the service was complete, I drove off and there was smoke (not alittle smoke) coming out the tail pipe (looked like the car was on fire. I turned around and went back to the shop and the manager ********* said your car has 60k miles and usually thats when the car turbo goes bad. He and couple other techs try to clean the oil. I decide to get the car towed home. Have t drove it or started since 11/13/23. It was parked on the sidewalk for 2 months. While I saving up and to get it towed to the dealership. The dealership technician diagnosed the issue and wrote in his notes, that the transmission oil was low and the oil level is overfilled! For Falken Ziex CT60. Left a review and was asked to contact customer ********************** center via this email. When I called your call center I was quoted a price that would beat discount tire by 10%. Discount tire total would have been $720.80. When its time to pay I tell store manager that price did not reflect quote. He said, today is Saturday and I will have yo keep your car until Monday so you can contact customer ********************** and you can handle your problem with them. Told him that was unfair and then he said I will match what they told you and give you a free oil change. I said ok, total comes up on the screen and it shows no discounts at all nor a free oil change. Please check recordings at La Mesa store for time of receipt so you can see how your store manager handled this situation. I also asked that the *********** on alignment was way off and numbers are too close after he said I needed an alignment or else tires wouldnt last more than 2 months. Very hard to trust Evans when you guys reward this type of behavior towards customers. Im eager to see how this is resolved - thank you!Review from Simon C

Dez "diagnosis is only a process of elimination" it is not a solution. It is a best guess. This guy talks over all of the other employees and just is a mouthful of words with no meaning. Full of $#@&Paid for a diagnosis and they couldn't even find the part. Basically wasted 3 hours of my life on a guessReview from Ronald G

I had one of the worse service experiences in my life at **************. On my way to a meeting, I blew a tire. I barely was able to drive to ************** on **** First Ave ********* **. When I arrived, I was immediately told I needed to replace all 4 tires because my car is all wheel drive. This is the first Ive heard of this, after owning my car a couple of years. The attendant insisted and said they would not replace the tire, unless I got 4. Then he proceeded without using any tools to tell me my treads on all my tires were bad. I think they assumed I was desperate and they could take advantage of me. I ended up needing to tow my car to Discount Tires. Discount explained the manufacturer may recommend 4 tires but its just a recommendation as a consumer its my choice. I should never be forced into anything unless the tires are truly unsafe. They used a hand held tool and found my treads would be good for some time. They replaced my tire in 30 minutes although they had a line as they felt so bad about my poor treatment at Evans. The whole experience was eye opening on how Evans Tires conducts business. I was patronized and disrespected because a poor performing tire shop wants some sales. As I waited for my tow over an hour on that lot. I saw 5-7 people doing nothing but twiddle thumbs and hangout. I knew I was at a very low performing location that lacked leadership.
