Read Ready Pro has been charging me for services that I did not order or want. There is no way to get in touch with their customer service to complain. I was charged ***** x2 and would like to be refunded. In addition I do not want future business with them.Initial Complaint

On January 19,2022 I ordered a book on line from TheProRead for $9.60. The order # is XXXXX. I have repeatedly called and tried e-mailing this company and gotten no replies. I have not received the book, but have since discovered that this is a digital book! There was nothing on the Google website to indicate that. It stated "free shipping." It was listed next to three other well known companies selling the same book. I am 82 yrs. and have had my bank account hacked, a fraudulent charge put on my credit card, and now this scam, all within this last year! I would be very grateful if you could help me get a refund from this company. Thank you. ****** *******Business response

Date of Transaction 01/12/22, Total amount: $14.90, Order number XXXXX I just ordered two books from this site and, after submitting payment, discovered that the books are digital downloads, not actual hardcopies of the books. The website does not state that they are digital downloads rather than "hard copies" and the Google advertisement for the book I was looking for, which brought me to the site, states that it is "free shipping," which implies a physical product. Nowhere on the site or in the book / product description does it say that they are digital copies. The "shipping policy" on the site suggests that the books are "hard copy" because it references packages. The individual book descriptions from which I "added them to my cart" also do not show that they are digital copies rather than the actual hard copy books. The books are not separated or categorized into physical and digital download sections. The company's return policy states that a digital copy cannot be returned but I did not know that I was ordering a digital copy because it is intentionally misleading. After my experience, I did a Google search on this company and found that many others have had the same issue. As this appears to be an ongoing issue with this company and they have done nothing to address this on their site, it is obvious that they are intentionally misleading customers.Business response

On November 25, 2021 I ordered what I thought was a hardcover book, The Pioneer Woman Cooks Super Easy with my husband's Paypal account for $8.60. The site said "free shipping" - so I assumed I was ordering hard cover book.. It turned out to be a download version of the book. I sent an email to Pro Read when I never received the book or the confirmation that I would like my money back. Their response was no refunds on download versions of books and offered to send me a link to down load the book. To date I have emailed them numerous and called but no-one has called back or responded to my email messages. It was Transaction ID: XXXXXXXXXNXXXXXXH, Paypal Account: ****** ********** I do believe this was fraud and deceit on the part of The Pro Read Company.Business response

Date ******** Order #XXXXX Total ***** Was brought to their site while searching to buy a new book. I ordered the book and was suprirsed when I received an email with a link for an ebook. No where on the page that i was directed to from google or at check out was this stated or obvious. They also advertise "free shipping" which would lead one to believe it's a physical book. I asked for a refund immediatly and was told all sales are final. No refund was given. The terms listed on their site state that items can be returned in 30 days.
