      Like many folks who have posted about Wine Down on various blogs, I'm not sure how this company stays in business. I ordered a 6-month subscription for my aunt and her husband as a gift, and spent time each month asking Wine Down when I could tell them to expect the delivery when it was late. EACH MONTH!! Below is a segment of our sad conversations (with tracking and personal information removed):

      Hello.
      This order was set to arrive at the gift receiver's house today. At the last minute late this
      evening, the FedEx tracking info changed to "pending." Since this order shipped on
      January 27th, I'm wondering what the delay might be. Any suggestions? I wouldn't mind if this was being sent to me, but
      because it is a gift, I am keeping better tabs on the order.

      Thank you for the link, but I already had this- that is how I was able to see that while my
      gift HAD been in transit, now an eta is listed as pending (and still is). Did you check this
      link? Please advise.

      If the shipment is indeed lost, I would really appreciate a rushed replacement. This was a
      Christmas gift for my god mom and her husband. They were looking forward to enjoying it
      during the superbowl on Sunday. Sadly, I'm guessing that will no longer happen.

      I just received a FedEx email saying the new arrival date is Feb. 9th. I'm concerned that
      the cheese in this order will be spoiled since it shipped on ***. 28th. I would imagine that
      you should be shipping new cheese. Please advise.

      Unfortunately, we were unable to ship the package on the 26th of February due to
      supplier delays. According to our suppliers, it is very difficult to ship perishable items as
      the package may be stuck during shipment.
      We'll be sending out shipments as soon as the weather is not a concern, right now, severe
      weather across the U.S. is causing delays including the ability to pick up and deliver in
      certain cities. An update with the tracking details will be sent as soon as possible.

      Hello.
      I am really disappointed in this service. I was personally gifted with "month clubs" recently,
      two of which contain perishable food, and have not had any issues with receiving them on
      time. One of them even ships through USPS, which has had a terrible history in the past
      year of not delivering mail and packages on time.
      You ask below again if there is anything that you could do. I would suggest adding an
      extra month to my gift, but it appears that won't happen, since you do not ship in the
      warmer months. I'm really not sure how you could make this right, aside from NOT having
      the same delay occur for the March shipment. I am also concerned about that one, since it
      is possible that it ends up shipping late during a month that you do not ship. I can't
      imagine anyone being satisfied with Wine Down service if this is what happens every
      month. I suspect that this would be less of a problem for me if it was not a gift that I am
      giving to someone else.

      Just checking in to see if there is perhaps an eta of when my shipment will ship yet?

      I received the attached Fedex email today. I'm confused as to why it would not be
      received until the 11th, if it is being sent today? Can you explain? That is about a week,
      which is a bit odd for a Fedex order. I would expect 2-3 days.

      Hello.
      Since my February order did not ship out until March, I am wondering when my March
      order will ship. Please advise.
      Also, should I expect the 4th shipment that you added to make up for tardiness of all of
      these orders to ship in April? Or will that one be held for cooler months?


      This seemed like a great gift idea, but I will NEVER order from them again. They are supposed to be giving me a free month (which I will be holding them to tooth and nail!) but I'm positive that I will have to remind me, and remind them again, of this promise.
