Atlas Roofing failed to install my roof in a workmanlike manner and damaged the interior of my home. The breaches, failures and mispresentations from Atlas include but are not limited to: 1. Failing to install an entire new roof, as agreed. 2. Removing the skylight, failing to cover the open area and admittedly causing smoke damage to the top floor of the home and furnishings, then refusing to pay for that damage. 3. Refusing to appear for final inspection 4. Refusing to repair and replace the skylight in a workmanlist manner, despite pictures and multiple requests. 5. Failing to return cords and cables to their original condition I have contacted "*****" on multiple occasions, to no avail. He simply attempts to talk around these issues but takes no action. I will incur significant additional expense to correct the flawed work, faulty work, mitigate the smoke damage and finish the areas where the roofing was not completed. I do not waive my rights to assert separate claims or legal remedies in the future.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/10) */ Hello, Unfortunately the homeowner *** ***** was not on location during the work and therefore has false information in his hands. He still hasn't seen in his own eyes any of the aledged damages. The new roof is in great condition and was installed according to the manufacturer's guidlines. All is left are cosmetic touch ups that the homeowner is refusing to allow access in order to do that. The damages he describes are incorrect and rely on false information. We repeatedly asked to meet with him and show him. *** ***** choses to be combative, refuse to allow access to inspect aledged damages and take unilateral steps to "reapir" aledged damages at an axagurated prices borderline ridiculous. We also offered him compensation in the amount of $8,128 that he refuse to. With all the goodwill we have shawn he remains spiteful and combative. Thank you kindly. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Unfortunately, Mr. **** continues his propensity for dishonesty: First, please see the attached inspection REPORT, performed after his/Atlas work. These are far beyond "cosmetic" issues. Second, please see attached inspection PHOTOS, taken after his work. The work was incomplete, unsupervised, sloppy and well below industry standards. The report confirms it. The photos confirm it. And two independent industry professionals have confirmed it. Third, Mr. **** /Atlas admitted that he and his company caused the smoke damage to the house by failing to cover a large skylight during application of hot smoldering roof materials ("hot mopping") However, he has steadfastly refused to pay for the repair. I have his refusal in writing and can share the same. The lowest of two estimates to repair the smoke damage was $9,200. Third, Mr. ****/Atlas provided two (2) bids, one for partial roof replacement and a second for the entire roof (attached). We accepted the whole roof bid. However, Mr. ****/Atlas knowingly failed and refuse to complete the remaining portion of the roof. The cost to complete the same is $5,000-6000. Fourth, the roofing materials, flashing, caulking and other work was performed in a poor, substandard non-workmanlike manner. Estimated cost to fix all of ****'s/Atlas' mistakes, beyond what is otherwise referenced herein is $2,500-$3,000. Fifth, Mr. ****/Atas has refused to provide proof of insurance and bonding, despite 3 requests. Copies of these requests can be provided. Sixth, Mr. ****/Atlas damaged a large skylight over the kitchen area during the roof installation and then failed and refused to fix the same. The cost of repair from an alternative roofing company is $3,200 for this issue. Seventh, ********************************************** was at the house the entire time during the process. I was at the house at the beginning and shortly after they left. Again, Irrelevant. Two inspections confirm all of the foregoing. My damages at present are $21,600 and this excludes my time,*************** and other known claims. substandard, at best. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/08/23) */ Good day, the attached report say "Add white Mastic". That is what Atlas Roofing been saying all along, it's just touch ups. The report recommends adding down spouts to the scuppers which was not part of the scope of work. Nowhere on the report it say the work on the roof was sub-standard as claimed by *********. ********* refused to allow Atlas Roofing access to make any repairs and adjustment needed as indicated he must by the agreement and unilaterally took actions with exaugurated prices. Atlas Roofing admits the skylight hatch was not covered for few minutes and SMELL not SMOKE came in. Smoke would indicate a fire and burning materials. In the heat application of modified bitumen we melt the asphalt, not burning stuff on the roof. The skylight hatch was covered short minutes after. The homeowner refused to allow Atlas Roofing reps and its restoration expert into the house to inspect alleged damages. Atlas Roofing does admit there was one part we didn't replace and should have. For that Atlas Roofing apologize. The price charged for this area was $3900. Atlas Roofing is willing to come back and do it or reimburse ********* $3900. The only problem is, ********* didn't pay for the services that we did provide. He paid $12,000 out of $20,128 and backcharged the $12,000 and therefore paid $0 for the new roof. Atlas Roofing Is willing to come back and make any necessary repairs and adjustments to the roof and negotiate a reasonable compensation if indeed damage occurred to the inside of the house.
