I placed an order in 5/27/23 for a pair of off- white out of office sneakers size 46 through a company called Maxfield ** (***************************************************************) my package was supposedly delivered by ***** on 6/6/23 at 10:01am. The package was supposed to be signed for by someone at the home and the driver neglected to do his job. No one was home to sign for the package, I assumed that the driver would leave a redelivery note or take the package back with him. Upon checking my security system, I noticed that the ***** driver signed my name and left the package. When I got home the package was missing. ***** responded stating that they require written and signed authorization by the shipper waiving their right to pursue a claim. I then in turn contacted Maxfield who stated that they reached out to ***** to file a claim, but never got a response. I submitted video of the driver leaving the package but there was no video of someone stealing the package whether it be the driver or a passerby. I followed up with Maxfield on 7/11/23 and they stated that they still didnt hear back from *****. The tracking number is *************. The cost was $261.78 and the order number with Maxfield was #****. As of the writing of this complaint there has been no resolution. Therefore I am seeking a refund from Maxfield because they chose the shipping company and there has been no further help from Maxfield regarding my order status with them or ***** since 7/11/23 and the order was placed in May.

Hello. I purchase a healthy amount of sneakers and streetwear online, and have developed a strong relationship and reputation with all the merchants I shop with as a reliable customer. Maxfield LA released a highly coveted sneaker yesterday and I was able to purchase 1. It is impossible to obtain these sneakers without having some sort of autofill as it is extremely competitive... so when you do finally purchase, it's a very rewarding feeling. Unfortunately, Maxfield LA ruined that feeling as they unfairly profiled me, and manually cancelled my order about 1 hour after purchase, giving me false hope. Shopify did not flag me as fraud, my billing and shipping match, so this poor decision was not logical, and was made simply due to the demand and resale value of the shoe. If the shoe I had purchased did not have a higher street value, I can guarantee they would ship the order out. Very unethical way of doing business, not a honest retailer.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/16) */ Dear Better Business Bureau, Thank you for sending us this notice and providing us the opportunity to respond to ******s complaint. It is correct that ******** sells highly coveted sneakers. However, we are extremely aware of the fact that many people and particularly Internet bots try to take advantage of the sneaker releases for reselling purposes. We have strict rules in place that we follow to the best of our abilities. We provide a fair platform for clients to have a level opportunity to purchase a pair of sneakers. In ******s case, he successfully purchased a pair of sneakers in a sneaker release on June 10th through the Shopify platform we use to fulfill our Internet orders. At that time, Shopify did not flag him as a risk and we sent him his sneakers. When he tried to purchase a pair of shoes on August 27th, the system did flag him as a medium risk. When we review risk profiles, we only fulfill low risk orders. With the amount of orders we receive every time we offer a new sneaker release, we are not able to review medium or high risk orders that are flagged in Shopify. To address his last comment about being unethical - we are NOT a sneaker reseller - we ONLY sell sneakers at MSRP - we do not resell sneakers to the highest bidder. Most of of our sneakers we sell are by Nike and we are always at the top of Nike's list of valued vendors who have the highest standards. We apologize that ***** feels as if we were not fair and honest, but in fact, we are. Best Regards, ******** P.S. Please see attached the Shopify screenshots of his risk profiles in both instances where he purchased shoes from ********. The triangle with the exclamation calls out the order was medium risk. The purchase he made in June had low risk. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2021/09/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am accepting the response and ok with closing out this case. But I do want to make my point clear again. You supported my argument when you confirmed that you have previously fulfilled a order for me, and everything went smooth and there were no issues. That is more of a reason why as a retailer you should make the judgment call to fulfill my order again, since I'm a repeat client and you never have any issues with me in the past. I am sorry to hear that you may not have enough man power to investigate these things, and it's just much easier to cancel the order- but try to remember that it's not just a number... on the other side of the order there is usually someone very excited to get these new sneakers, and your quick and robotic actions can really make people upset, or even feel like they are being profiled for being "high risk" with no logical evidence to support that. And just for the record, no one was accusing you of reselling for higher that retail, but more or a pick and chose what orders to fulfill based on a system that makes false risk assessment.... Where is the human touch?
