In November 2020 I received a call from a company called Digital PC Support. They said they provide software support services for Apple Inc. and gave me their App. They appeared genuine. The company called again in March 2021. They said my identity had been compromised, showed me my IP number, and downloaded an App called "AnyDesk" to access my laptop and review. In April 2021, I got an e-mail, purportedly from Yahoo Customer Service, that my account was being accessed from various locations. Soon afterwards Digital PC Support agents called again, via their "sister company" Ehub Store, and said I was still compromised. They needed to change the software. They would refund the previous payment in 7-10 business days. Before I could get the refund, they called again in May 2021 claiming the software was not working and needed to be changed. They wanted access to my bank account to ensure it was okay. They were very aggressive and argumentative. I realized I'd been scammed. I explained that I didn't have enough money, would pay what I could afford and the balance once I got the refund. I was afraid they would damage my laptop. There were several people working together. All had *************** They always made the issue seem very serious and urgent. I would lose everything if I didn't act fast enough. I realized later that they were the same people who had sent me the e-mail. Everything was done professionally: they provided ID numbers, security code, and refund confirmation number. I had this information on my desktop. The last caller erased most of it when I said I couldn't afford the full amount. However, I managed to save some (attached). It was an oversight not to have conducted due diligence before paying. I also failed to notice that they usually showed me prices of hardware while they had said they provide software services. It was done very fast. (In part I was going through a stressful period and didn't reason well). Nobody answers the phone numbers.
