I special ordered a new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek at an agreed price. I sat down with a salesperson and ordered everything that I specifically wanted and did not want on the vehicle. Two months later the car arrives and I go in to purchase it. As it turns out, they have added on $2500 worth of add ons I didn’t order, want, or need. What kind of a business does that? It is clearly a huge scam. How do these dealerships operating these scams stay in business? Huge disappointment!

I brought my car in to fix 3 things. My battery was dying, my hatch was clicking, and my touchscreen stopped working. Instead, they only did the battery and then 3 other very expensive things that I never approved. The way it happened was after I brought my car in for my 3 problems, my service tech S**** called me and told me all this other stuff he wanted to do to my car. I told him i was interested but I want to think about it. Instead, he just started the process. When I got to the dealership that night, I found out he had already started the process of doing all this other stuff to my car. I told him to stop immediately and that i never approved any of that. He told me I'd have to pay anyway. He said he had me on recording approving all this service Later I talked to the manager on the phone. He said he listened to the recording of me approving the service and that I'm going to have to pay anyway. I've asked multiple times for a copy of that recording, but they haven't sent it to me. And then he continued to try to convince me to do all the other services that Scott wanted to do. I told him no, i'm not coming back to this dealership again. The next day, when I went to pick up my car and pay for all the service I never approved, he told me that I am no longer allowed at this dealership. I was never rude to anyone. I was always nice and tried to be understanding. I understand people are just doing their jobs; mistakes and miscommunications happen sometimes. So i maintained a respectful attitude the entire time. To me, it's pretty crazy to ban somebody from a dealership just because they complained about unapproved service. This whole thing ended up costing me $1400. $888 of that was "labor costs" when they were only working on my car for maybe a total of 3-4 hours. Because I told them to stop all work on the car about 3 hours in, and they probably spent 1 more hour finishing the things they already started. this place is a scam.

I bought my Subaru at the Ladin Subaru dealership in 2018. Now it is DCH Subaru. I brought the car back to the dealership for every 6,000 mile maintenance. I think the dealership has kept the car running well, except for the last couple of times. On 19 April, I took my car in for the routine 60,000 mile maintenance. The Service Advisor said Subaru recommend a "fuel induction service" at 60,000 ($399). I smelled a scam, but the Service Advisor insisted Subaru recommend this. So, after much discussion, I finally said okay. Later I read my Warranty & Maintenance manual (pages 30-31) and found out that Subaru does NOT recommend a fuel induction service at any mileage. Never. Then I googled the web. Most sites say a fuel injection service is just a dealership scam. On 23 June, the red "check engine" warning light came on. DCH fixed the problem for $219. Later I read the invoice in detail. It said that the light came on because the fuel injector service of 19 April had been done improperly. On 26 June, I emailed a complaint to the DCH General Manager. He said he would get back to me. For two months I did not hear anything. So, I posted a complaint on Yelp. DCH replied to the Yelp post, but as of today, 1 September, after four months, the issue is unresolved. Summary: I have been a loyal Subaru customer for six years. What happens to people who are not long-term loyal customers?

I bought my car here and have had it serviced there since 2021. I was having an issue with the auto shut off and brought it in. Before doing that, I said I must have a loaner. No problem, they said. Got there. No loaner. I ultimate -- after a lot of back and forth -- got a loaner. Then, they told me that my service was not under warranty. That's odd. It has been under warranty each time. Nope. They said I never had a warranty for regular maintenance. I've been told that I do have one. Lots of back and forth. They insist I don't have one. Strange that I've had one for all the times before. Then, they tell me they recommend changing differential fluid and transmission fluid, and a couple filters for over $1000. My car has 34K miles, doesnt go off roading, I work from home. I called another dealer and asked generic questions about changing fluids and they said Subaru recommends a change at 60K for one of the fluids and 100K for another. Hmmm. I'm not even close to that and dont drive the car hard. Definitely not going back to this dealer. Dealerships are ambassadors of the brand.

This dealer and their service department are running scam. I have a Subaru Forster. when I noticed the tire pressure of one of my tires seem to be leaking, I went to the service department. They said to leave that car so they can water test and find the problem. Three hours later they called me and said that one of the tires has a small nail but it is not patchable because the nail is on the side and not in the middle of tire. They said the tire needs to be changed. But additionally, since the vehicle is all wheel drive, they can not just change one tire because it would cause a damage to transmission. And that they have to replace all four tires. The cost for that would be $1,319. At that point I decided to buy the tires at an independent shop, the American Tire which is a reputable tire shop. I thought they would be less expensive that the dealer. The next morning I took my car to American Tire in Simi Valley. the checked the threads and indicated threads are good. They then said they will examine if it is patchable. After examining the tire, they said the nail was in the middle of tire and patchable. They fixed my tire at $0.00 cost. I decided to go back to the Subaru dealer to let the manager know. The general manager of Subaru, Paul seemed to be indifference. I expected and in fact asked if he can have the manager of service department to come also so he could also be part of our discussion. Paul the general manager refused and didn’t seem to care. This dealership seems to engage in scam and price gauging. I do not recommend it to anyone.
