I first contacted Tax Hardship Center LLC back in April 2022. They stated they could get me a substantial savings on my back taxes. I first paid the initial $495 to start the process. After that I paid over $5000. They said the process would take 6-9months for a resolution. It is now two years later and I still owe the IRS the same money I owed them from the start. The people stop responding to emails and are not answering the phones. I would like a refund and a response as to why they didn't fulfill their end of the deal.Review from Donald W

I contacted the tax hardship Center January 2024. My wife had just passed away on January 2nd. We had been in a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy for 5 years. During that bankruptcy we paid all our taxes off. Unfortunately, the 5 years of bankruptcy we did not pay those taxes. The tax hardship Center told me they could save me a substantial amount of money. It would cost me $3,000. First I had to send them $495 for them to investigate it. The person told me that I am a good candidate for substantial savings. I want to head and told them to investigate and send them the money. Over the next 6 months I sent them $550 each month. I had a very difficult time contacting them. Finally after they took all my money, they had somebody contact me from the resolution Department that said I had to pay the entire $28,000 back. They gave me three options, anywhere between $30,000 and 39,000 in total. I immediately canceled my debit card I had with them. I've been trying to contact them to get money back. I have left a voicemail canceling my contract with them. I have also sent an email canceling my contract with them. They still will not get back to me. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! HAVE NEVER RECEIVED WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE! We have paid over $5000 to help us resolve our tax issues. We began our interaction with Tax Hardship Center in August of 2022. It is not a complicated case, but due to life threatening illness we needed someone to take the reins for us. We are now in June 2024. We have had changes in our representatives (4 times) and each time it felt like we were starting over. We have called over 26 times to only be told our representatives would get right back to us. Then, without any response from our representatives, we had to talk to assistants over and over and over and over. We have been forced to put communication in writing, which they still have yet to respond to. We just received a letter from the IRS that meetings with the Tax Hardship Center (THC) were missed 3 times, after the IRS allowing 3 extensions. When by an act of GOD an assistant did call back, we were repeatedly told the IRS has not responded to them. We contacted the IRS directly and they are working with us, and have been great with communication. THC has done NOTHING except ask us for the same docs. Over and over, avoid our calls and written communication, ignored IRS meetings, ignored phone calls and we want an apology and a total REFUND! We are not going to just go away! We are willing to sue, contact news stations, go directly to their office and stand outside telling potential customers about their ****** service. This is on a matter of principle and want to warn people about their scam. We needed help during a very stressful time medically and they made everything more stressful and a lot more time/effort on our part to get NOTHING!Review from Gary M

I review a lot of businesses. I am Fair and want to provide information for people who genuinely are looking at a business to use for themselves. Regarding doing business with the Tax Hardship Center is: It's too good to be true but WOW. They help me so much I felt like I was out of a 10 year prison at the end. The feeling I had after they worked out all the issues I had with back tax penalties etc., was just such a relief. Special thanks to: Josh Bensimhon Senior Tax Analyst, my first impression on the phone. After 2 months of searching he was the first person that put me at ease, Jessy Zhu, Tax Preparer, for the speed and accuracy of getting the electronic form filled in and filed and Leslie Welch, Tax Preparation Associate, who clearly and precisely explained what my role was and the timeline I was on . I have been given the runaround by the Tax Hardship Center. They kept telling me the resolution would take time and it has been since October 2023 that this has dragged on. The cost to me was $4500.00 and I have gotten bad advice. I have sent them everything they have asked for and they have advised that I should stop paying IRS the monthly payment plan that I have and i should go into default with IRS. That is terrible advice. They even advised me to close my checking account so IRS could not deduct the monthly payment for the plan I currently have with IRS. I know this is bad advice and I refuse to follow such bad advice. Also, the agent I was dealing with has changed and when they finally told me that, i have sent the new agent two emails and she does not respond. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are unresponsive and every time I wanted to obtain status, I had to reach out to them. I firmly believe I am entitled to a return of the money I paid to the Tax Hardship Center in the amount of $4500.00. I am 790 years old and Tax Hardship Center has taken unfair advantage of me. I need the $4500.00 back and have made that request verbally and in writing and I am ignored.Review from Dennis Jay G

I was in a very serious tax situation that Karlyn L**** from Tax Hardship Center was able to do, what I thought was impossible, resolve an IRS Tax Lien that was preventing me to buy a home and close the escrow on the house. I was in the process of purchasing a home when the title company found an IRS Tax Lien. I contacted Tax Hardship Center and first spoke with Hamilton D****, a Senior Case Analyst who explained the service Tax Hardship Center could do for me. It gave me hope, and I agreed to let Tax Hardship Center handle this for me. I was quickly contacted by Karlyn L**** from the Tax Resolution Department, and Karlyn took immediate action, and was able to have my tax Lien removed quickly, and I was able to satisfy the title company so I could close on my new house. Hamilton, and Karlyn are awesome people. Karlyn stayed in contact with me all through the process. Karlyn is a wonderful person. Friendly, courteous, and caring deeply for my situation. If it wasn't for her, me and my seven-year-old son would not have a home today. Kudos to Hamilton D****, Karlyn L****, and Tax Hardship Center. THANK YOU !!!!! D***** *****Review from Olivia S

This is one of the worst companies that I have worked with. The communication was good up until I paid the 495.00 fee. After receiving the fee, the representative stopped communicating with me regarding my case. I made several calls and left multiple messages; no one has called me back in a few months. I could not request a refund because I was always referred back to the person who handled my case. That person never answered the phone nor responded to my messages. I am very disappointed, and I would like a refund.Review from Ashley D

I felt completely lost when I received the letter from the IRS stating that I owed $15,000. It totally took my breath away and I had no idea what direction to go. I’m a single mom to a four year old little boy and times are tough as it is I had originally contacted the service and was actually, very unhappy with the account rep that I originally started working with. To the point where I was willing to take the loss and completely stopped answering her responding to the calls. Yesterday I received voicemail from Suzanne stating that she just would have liked to speak to me before she closed my account. She was so kind on the voicemail that I thought to myself let me give this another try, and I reached out to her within an hour she was able to ease my mind give me options and explanations on how to move forward. She was so kind and helpful and had no problem answering my million questions that I had to ask.Tax Hardship Center LLC. Response

I felt like I was buried alive. I was beginning to think there was no where to turn; I’m grateful I found Tax Hardship Center when I did. Once I knew someone understood my situation and cared about me I was actually able to sleep again and regain focus on everything else I had going on in my busy life. I could never have dug out by myself; I tried. I’m a BIG fan!… I got my life back. They worked with me to find a manageable path where I’d almost given up… THANK YOU!Tax Hardship Center LLC. Response
