Back in October after returning to our cottage after a full day of hiking we opened the couch to pull out the bed so we could lie down while we watched tv. There was so much dog hair and food crumbs on the linen it was as though the sheets had never been washed. Needless to say we closed up the sofa bed right away.Very unsanitary. This past stay, May 2022, Had maintenance come out to look at a loose front door lock. and difficult to close shut. He noted the metal on the lock was totally broken. So he removed the lock altogether and told us he could repair. He disappeared for the rest of the day. We did run into him on our walk and he said he had to send someone out to pick up the part. Never heard anything back. In retrospect, we should have insisted he leave the lock since it did work, it just wasn't very secure. Because what we were left with was a door with no locking device, just a hole in the sliding door. Our safety and security was put in jeopardy.Our response from staff when checking out was 'too bad, maybe your visit will be better next time. Terrible customer service lacking follow through. I have sent several email cancelling all future reservations and they have not responded to our complaints or acknowledged cancellations.
