I am filing a complaint here pertaining to an order placed on 24 April 2024 (see attached proof of purchase for reference). My complaint is concerning the two Large French Fries I ordered; they tasted completely ***** and it felt like I was eating mushy starch that didnt taste at all like potatoes. This is the first time I have an issue with McDonalds French Fries and I would have expected a better-tasting product considering that they are now more expensive. Depending on the outcome of this complaint, I will have to seriously reconsider the purchase of this menu item in the future. My desired outcome is to either be refunded for this part of the order or, alternatively, to be issued a store credit for the equivalent of the amount I spent on the two Large French Fries.Thank you for your consideration.

This complaint is in regards to an order placed two days ago at a McDonalds location (Case No. ********). The response provided to me by email from the representative was completely unsatisfactory and I therefore wish to escalate this to the corporate division of McDonalds. It appears, judging by the generic and dismissive response I received for the poor, relatively expensive, and unpleasant-tasting product purchased at one of its restaurants, that the McDonalds *************************** simply doesnt care about issues coming from even their most frequent customers. This is not a problem I take lightly considering how expensive menu items are becoming at McDonalds restaurants lately and being taken for a fool is not something I appreciate as a paying customer who expects items to be worth their price. I hope the McDonalds Corporation can get back to me with an appropriate and reasonable resolution. As it stands, my trust in this company has been negatively impacted by this most recent purchase. As of this writing, I have not yet heard back from anyone since my response to their first email message about this issue, but I will keep this complaint open to give McDonalds the chance, through a different channel, to help me get closure for the case in question.

We appreciate that ******************** has taken the time to let us know that our Vanilla Shake tasted like artificial flavor according to his claim; we are thankful that he did not have any digestive issues as he mentions on case #********. We can assure you and ******************** that food quality and safety at McDonald's are among our highest priorities. We apologize that he was not satisfied with the taste of the vanilla shake. Our general manager is aware of this incident and personally contacted ********************, we apologize that the follow up was not up to his satisfaction. We will be more than happy to send ******************** some coupons to the provided address if that will solve the problem; we can offer a free meal if he would not like the coupons. Last option can be a refund, I will have to contact my supervisor and see if we can provide a refund, however, product will be requested. Thanks for your attention and we hope to solve this matter and gain ******************** business back :)

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I was contacted by the general manager of the McDonalds location in question (12 March 2024) and was offered a replacement product as compensation plus an additional item for the inconvenience, which I redeemed a few days later. The staff was very understanding and the replacement products taste was far better. This complaint remained open long after the resolution was offered by the restaurant. I apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding as a result of the lengthy process to get this complaint to the right place.

I am extremely satisfied with this McDonalds location and I look forward to my next visit some time soon.

I thank the BBB for the chance to get ahold of the restaurants management team through this channel.

      Sincerely,

      ******************************* L

Order No. **** - Check-in No. VV66-4531652 - Date: 10/23/2023 - Store No. **** This message is a follow-up to a response I received from a customer service agent about this case a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, I lost the case number. Please use my email as reference for this case. Although I appreciate that McDonalds responded to my feedback, I found the response to be vague and generic and does not resolve the underlying issue I faced at the restaurant. In all of my years visiting McDonalds restaurants, I have never once been faced with any particular limits on the amount of ketchups I request at the counter. As I mentioned before, I usually ask for a reasonable amount of ketchups because every time I order, the bag always includes just 3 packets, which for the amount of food I normally order is insufficient for me. I was hoping to at least have someone follow up with the management team at the reported location and maybe have them call me back so I can explain to them what happened because this is not normal and is the first time it happens to me. Personally, I take the amount of ketchups given to me by the restaurant staff very seriously and it is frustrating enough that there are no longer ketchup dispensers at the restaurants which once allowed me to serve myself as much ketchup as I needed. I appreciate your concern in helping me find an appropriate solution to this very frustrating situation. I definitely do not want to find myself in a scenario where my future experiences at McDonalds restaurants end up being ruined because of unjustified reluctance from the restaurant staff in regards to how they hand out ketchup packets. I am a frequent customer at this location and I am not the type that asks for unreasonable amounts of ketchup packets (i.e. usually never exceeding 20 or so). Again, I expect that this comment can be addressed as soon as possible and that the owner of this franchise can find the time to contact me should it be necessary.
