On January 31, 2024 my garage door broke-roller was off the track. Called the ** Gare doors to ask for repair. They were very close by neighbor and has 5 Star Review. Repairman *************** came early evening and proceed to check the problem. Put the roller back on track and told me both Torsion spring need to replace-even though it wasn't broken. Told me each spring is $650 with$250 for labor. I decided to proceed due to urgency and pending rain. He installed the springs then seemed to adjust door opener then activate remote but door wouldn't open. He told me opener need to be replaced and quote $1400. He was not gave me much explanation at all. When I hesitate to think he told me you can manually open the garage door. I decide to proceed to replace opener after discussed with wife. Garage door is working but I couldn't shake off the idea of price gouging. when I check the ********** price of Torsion spring were less then $99 and similar opener was $180. Almost 700% mark up. Internet said average cost of installing torsion spring was $250. I contacted the company about the service and price but haven't heard from them yet. I am 76 years old Asian American ******* Veteran. I thought it was price gouging, elder abuse and racial discrimination.i felt it was price gougingBusiness response

Hi team BBB,
We, as HQ GARAGE DOORS AND GATES, never provided any services to this person. We would love to see an estimate or an invoice with our name on it. This complaint is not just, we don't really understand why we got this letter. The customer should contact the company that provided him the service. This person never paid us or received services from us.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I contacted only your company for broken garage door. Woman answered your business line told me repairman will come between 3 Pm and 5:30 PM. Repairman *************** called me little after 5:30PM. when he was neighborhood. Next day I called your company and same woman answered and acknowledged *** was dispatched by your company.Sincerely,
