On December 2nd, 2023, I had an appointment with Currine Thomas to re-tighten my Sisterlocks, the fee for this service is $150. On December 1st, I received a text message from her, notifying me that she likely would not be able to complete my re-tightening on 12/2, because of a work schedule conflict. We set a follow-up appointment for her to finish my hair on December 9th at 10am.I arrived at my appointment on 12/2 just before 9am. We agreed that since, she wouldn't be able to complete the re-tightening of all my locks in that session, that she would do the front half, and I would return on 12/9 for her to complete the remaining half. I paid her the full $150 in cash. We had used this arrangement in the past when she had scheduling conflicts that prevented her from completing my hair in a single session, and there was never an issue. On December 7th (two days before my follow-up appointment), I sent her a text asking what time she thought she might finish my hair for the upcoming appointment. She responded that she was hoping to finish around 12 noon. On December 8th (the day before my follow-up appointment), she sent a text asking if she could do my hair the next weekend. I responded that I could come on 12/16 at 10. Then she said, no that won't work because she's leaving out of town that Friday. She asked if I could come on 12/10, and I told her I couldn't because I had to work.At that point she said she would have to give me some of my money back, since she was unable to do my hair. I asked if she would be refunding half of the fee, since she had done LESS THAN half my hair in the prior session. She responded that she would only be refunding $50. I told her that wasn't a fair amount since she had done LESS THAN half of my hair. I sent her a picture of a portion of my Sisterlocks at the top of my head that she had not done - proof that she had done LESS THAN half of my hair. She still refused to refund half. She sent the $50 via Zelle.
