I was attending a conference at *************, and this hotel was the preferred hotel for the conference, so I reserved a room as did two of my colleagues. Before the conference both colleagues told me the hotel had "lost" their reservations, so they decided to stay elsewhere. Wary of a business that had lost reservations, I decided to cancel my reservation. When I spoke with the manager, he "could not find my reservation" and assured me I would not be charged. I stayed elsewhere. Then a month later, he charged my credit card for one night. It's been two months, and despite requests, the charge has not been reversed. I spoke with him again this morning, and he claims to be looking into whether I canceled on time. I explained that would seem impossible since when I canceled he said he couldn't find my reservation so there was nothing he could do but not to worry as I wouldn't be charged since there was not a reservation. One of the conference organizers spoke to him before the conference when I alerted her before the conference that the room reservations were being lost, and she contacted him again on my behalf after he charged me. But the charges remain on my company card.
