Consumers have also reported that company representatives ask to remotely access their computer and then instruct the consumers to log into their bank accounts and have threatened harm to their computers if they refuse.
According to the Federal Trade Commission: "[Scammers] claim to be 'tech support' and will ask you to give them remote access to your computer. Eventually, they’ll diagnose a non-existent problem and ask you to pay for unnecessary – or even harmful – services."

The business has responded by stating that the complainant has been issued a refund and that they have had a problem with another company calling their customers and attempting to steal their clients.
BBB believes that these complaints contain a pattern of allegations and contacted the business on June 19, 2015. We requested the company provide to us steps that it is taking to eliminate the underlying cause of complaints, if any. The company responded to our request on June 22, 2015, indicating that they had been the victim of a hacking in which their customers' contact information had been stolen and used to make fraudulent phone calls. According to the company, the callers attempt to scam their customers by trying to gain access to their financial information. The company states that it has sent alerts to its customers by email and through the mail warning them about this scam. The company has also posted an alert on the home page of its website, www.thebestpcdoctor.com.
