      On April20,2021 me and my husband went to see Dr. ********************** for our annual eye exam, when we were done we picked out glasses and paid for what we were told that was owed pictures of our bank acct and credit card is enclosed, then when we left they called us and said we owed $85.00 more and that we could pay that when we picked up our glasses, which I did pay see picture, I asked the woman who was helping me if I was all paid she checked my acct and my husband's and said yes you owe nothing else. Then in November of 2021 I get a **** saying that we both owed $278.00 more and so I called they said yeah not sure why though so I asked to have the billing number and was told that there is no number just a email address but they would relay my message to her, I feel like between the insurance company and ourselves we have paid alot of money for these glass that we were told were completely paid for.. picture of insurance payments enclosed. They have sent me to collections for this they have talked to my insurance company and told them that they would relay the information to the billing person. I have talked to both my health insurance and VSP company and they said no claim has been put in for anything like they told them to do so. Our acct numbers with Dr. ********************** are ***********************- ***** *********************** ******.

      Both patients presented at the time of service with medical eye diseases and we billed their medical insurance, Anthem BlueCross of CA, per our financial policy (attached). Their insurance denied coverage for both patient claims. Upon denial we transferred balances to Mr and **************** and began billing practices. 

      **************** received her first billing statement on 12.01.21, second 01.01.22 (with a past due sticker), third 03.01.22 that include a letter requesting immediate payment or to set up a payment plan, and fourth on 04.01.22 when we requested that she make payment within ************************************************ every attempt we made to collect from the patient, she did not reach out to us once to talk about the balance. The only time she contacted us was after her account was sent to an outside collection agency.

      ******************* billing statements began 04.01.22, second on 06.01.22 (with a past due sticker), third 07.03.22 that include a letter requesting immediate payment or to set up a payment plan, and fourth on 08.01.22 when we requested that he make payment within 15 days or be subject to further collections. He still has until 08.15.22 to make payment on his account before being assigned to collections.

      I am rejecting this response because:I have spoke to my **************** and Dr. ********************** office has not submitted any claim for this ****.And I have contacted the office personnel several times and have asked for a number so I could call the billing department and was told they don't have a number that I could call, also had my ***************** call and was told the same thing. We were told on April 2021 that we owed nothing and was given our glasses, and didnt hear anything from Dr ********************** office till November 2021 saying we owed more money, I asked but you said that we owed nothing when I came in and paid the ***** in April. But was told by staff oh I don't know thats billing department issues but wouldn't give me a number to call...

      As stated, the fees associated with the balances due on the accounts are not for glasses. They are specifically for the medical eye exams provided to both patients and billed to medical insurance. All forms submitted by the patient are associated with the vision discount plan (VSP) which is not medical insurance. We believe the charges are justified and will not be removing the charges.

      I am rejecting this response because:Dr.Sanders office still has not submitted any claims to our medical insurance
      And we still are not able to talk to anyone in his billing department for they have no phone number to give. My next step is contacting the medical board department if need be...
