On 7/14/22, Auto Care Clinic diagnosed a catalytic converter problem on my Tundra truck. The employ, **** ********** (I believe to be his name) said that my truck has 4 catalytic converters. I asked him which one has the problem (note code 420 diagnosed which is on the receipt (#0***26 they gave me) he said the one at the driver side in the front. A week before I had the catalytic converter installed, I went to Auto Care Clinic and spoke with **** ********** and asked him again, which catalytic converter needed to be replaced. He left up the front hood of my truck and pointed to the driver side catalytic converter in the front and said, "It's this one with the wire". on October 27, 2022, I had Plaza Muffler & Hitch replaced the catalytic converter for $754.25. After a day or two I called Mr. ********** at Auto Care Clinic and explained to him that I had the catalytic converter replaced and the 'Check Light' engine is on. He told me to bring the truck in so he could check it. I brough it in he checked it, and told me I replaced the wrong one, he said it was the passenger side that was supposed to have been replaced. I explained to him and his boss **** *** (I don't know if this is his real last name because he said I could get their names at the court hourse) .Mr. ********* said that he did not tell me to replace the driver side one, he said to me and his boss that he told me it was the passenger side needed replacement, then he said it was both of them that needed replacement. This was not true. **** ***, side they will put one on for me for free but will not buy me another catalytic converter.Business response

MR ******’S VEHICLE HAS FAILED A SMOG TEST WITH ( CODE 420 ) BANK #1
ADVICE MR ****** THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDS REPLACING
AFTER MORE THAN THREE MONTHS MR ****** CAME IN WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON ,
STATING THAT CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS REPLACED BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON .
VEHICLE COMPUTER WAS SCANNED & ( CODE 420 )STILL THERE ,
TURNS UP THAT THE EXAUST SHOP HAD REPLACED THE WRONG CATALYTIC CONVERTER
BANK #2 ( CODE 430 )
WE TRYED TO WORK WITH MR ****** BECAUSE OF MR ******’S FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES AND OFFERED LABOR IF NEEDED , BUT OUR OFFER WAS DECLINE & A CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS DEMANDED BY MR ****** ,
AND WE WERE TOLD IF WE DON’T COMPLY WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER DEMAND ,
WE WILL BE SUED .
WE STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPEN OUTSIDE OUR WORKSHOP
& WE DENIES ANY WRONG DOING OR ANY RESPONSIBILITY NOER THE OBLIGATION TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY KIND OF FINANCIAL OR LABOR ANY COMPENSATION FOR THAT MATTER .

I read Auto Care Clinic response. I stick to the original story I sent BBB, they did not tell you that I came in the week before I had the work done for them to double check the problem - and they gave me the wrong information.Business response

i strongly believe that Mr ****** take the complaint to the workshop done the job on the vehiclei don’t see any wrong done by uspart that needed replacing was on the invoice , as i've explained previously in my emailMr ****** & the workshop done the job on the vehicle should be responsible
