Ive paid Continuously for three memberships for the past year i tried canceling my membership and they have made it so hard i went in 9/11 and signed to get to cancel , my membership is do on the 6 of every month i thought i would get charged a prorated amount for the five days because of the thirty day notice but he wants to charge me for another 30 days for all three memberships plus a maintenance fee that gets charged every year that i paid when i started but im not gonna pay that i had already signed the cancellation , *** asked to speak someone above the manager and he said theres no one else , that he will have someone contact me in a condescending way , i feel like they are taking advantageInitial Complaint

Have requested a cancelation of my membership at least 1 time per month every month for the last 4 months either in person or by phone/email. Requests were never processed and I continued to receive charges on my card. The gym charged me double for April. As management never processed my cancelations, I opened dispute with credit card company, requested a new credit card number so they couldnt charge me again even if they tried, then yet again reached out to the gym and requested a cancelation of my membership. Dispute was denied because gym responded to dispute with nothing more than my contract and falsely documented cancel date, which is 4 months later than original cancelation. Bank will reverse payment if gym agrees to it. I have not used their services for 8 months, but only canceled 4 months ago. I would like help recovering my money for the past 4 months.Business response

This members only and initial request for cancellation was made on 4/7/2022. This request was made 2 day after the members billing date of 4/5/2022 and that payment was utilized as his final payment with no further billing due, as a courtesy waiving additional payments that would have been due in compliance with our 30-day notice policy. Cancellation was processed same day as request.I've attached screenshots of communication made between myself and this individual that support all details and facts being stated truthfully and accurately discussed between both parties. This complaint is very unfair and manipulative and I believe it should be dismissed. I joined Fivestar gum February 23, 2022 was honored the valentines tines day price $29.99 and was told at the time of sogn up by two different employees ***** and **** that the $29.99 I'm paying up front is for the month of March and my next payment will be due April 17th. March 17th they charged my card for $29.99 I called and spoke with **** and said oh no that was a mistake that you were told. From February 17th to March 17th was what you paid for at sign up. **** lied at sign up and when I asked him why was I told I wouldn't be charged again until April 17th he couldn't answer me. I asked to cancel my membership only to be told I can't cancel I can put a freeze on my membership for $5.00 a month. This gym is lying to customers and ripping people off . I had to call my bank and have them block Fivestar gym from taking anymore money out of my account and I want the $29.99 I paid for at sign up and the $29.99 they took out March 17th refunded back to me.Business response

WITH EVERY SIGNUP, MEMBER PAYS FOR FIRST MONTH DUES AND IN MS. ******* CASE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THROUGH FEB.17TH-MARCH 17TH. NEXT DUES WOULD BE THE FOLLOWING MONTH WHICH IS IN MARCH AS MEMBER SIGNED A MONTH TO MONTH AGREEMENT IN WHICH THE MEMBER PAYS THIER MEMBERSHIP MONTHLY. I BELIEVE THAT MS.******* HEARD THAT HER INTIAL FIRST PAYMENT WOULD TAKE HER INTO THE MONTH OF MARCH, WHICH IS TRUE BUT NEXT MONTHLY DUES WOULD COME OUT THE SAME MONTH AS HER MEMBERSHIP STARTED IN FEBUARY ON THE 17TH. SO FEB.17-MAR.17 WOULD HAVE BEEN FOR 1ST MONTH, SECOND MONTH DUES WOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED ON MAR.17TH TO COVER HER THROUGH APRIL.17. WHICH IS CORRECT AS PART OF HER MONTH TO MONTH SIGNED AGREEMENT. MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED BY MEMBER ACKNOWLEDING ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS. WE CAN PROVIDE COPIES OF AGREEMENT IF NEEDED. MS. ******* WAS ALSO SIGNED UP ON A PROMOTIONAL DEAL IN WHICH SHE RECEIVED A FREE ENROLLMENT WITH HER MEMBERSHIP. THANK YOU.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: This is not what I was told when I had signed up. I was told about the promotion paid the $29.99 for March. I was told by two different people that next payment would not come out until April 17th. I want a refund for both payments that were made. It's not my fault two different employees **** and ***** had told me the same thing.
