We requested the service of Renaissance Renovations to fix our master and basement bathrooms. We paid half up front ($30,127 10 March 2023), we paid a progress amount, not in the contract ($10,000, 5 May 2023). and the end state is where the issue lies. Between 6 - 7 June ********************* text us that all we would have to pay is $22K and we countered with offering a great review, mentioning him to our friends for $20K but the itemized bill, he said the best is $22K, we still asked for the itemized bill. He continued to state the above text was the official itemized bill. On 9 June *********************** turned for the different stating that the above agreement was rescinded and now we owed $25k now or $125K at a later date. We stated we liked the work and would write the check for the $20K as mentioned. **** the exploded stating we now owed $26K. I wrote him an email stating all we wanted was an itemized bill, common practice. He stated the price is the price to get a lawyer. Our first official email from *********************** was 9 June an hour after his text stating the same about the $25k and was the final attempt. One the email there was two prices Final Payment Due $22K and Past Due of $26K. I wrote the check for the $22K feeling unfairly treated as we were negotiating prices as well as asking for a itemized bill. We received an email after our check was received stating they received the check, we owed $3,600 pay it or have a settlement drawing up. Demand Letter was drawn up from ************************* stating we owed $3,600 by **** 5 July 2023 or that will submit a mechanic's lien. All we asked for was an official itemized statement. Wanted more thank texts. I will call 28 June 2023 to discuss with a member of the BBB on our options.

We want a detailed, company header invoice for the finalized amount.  We thought it was routine company policy. Not receive several texts or an email summarizing the texts.

That is what we want.   Some money back would be nice but.

      Thank you!

Hello. A detailed summary was sent to the Tarpleys and also forwarded to the BBB. That detailed itemized summary also includes multiple discounts including **** that was not charged in exchange for the 5 star review that the tarpleys did not provide. They also settled with the law firm that was retained on Renaissance's behalf to collect the money they knew they owed. They were charged much less than they should have been as illustrated by the detailed written breakdown of all of the expenses incurred for materials purchased on their behalf, given thousands off, not only didn't give the online review as agreed but they filed a complaint with the BBB that will forever be damaging to my businesses reputation when we not only performed to the highest level and standard of any contractor, we gave them additional work for pennies on the dollar, and they not only didn't honor their word, but harmed my company. We are tracking the damage being done by the rating decline as a result of their actions and estimate it to be north of 250K in lost sales to date and encourage them to reverse this and give us the 5 star review we paid them to give us. As they've stated the work was great and there is no disputing that they received a detailed review with (company logo from company email with company logo on it from the owner of the company is what they have had in their custody and control months before filing this complaint) of all of the expenses and what they owed. They didn't dispute any of the work done because we have in writing where they requested that work and we were incredibly inexpensive given what they were telling us as far as guaranteed future business, a great review and future profit. Instead they have harmed the company with their actions.
