      Mc2 Sunroom also goes by ********** is not trustworthy. ****** has promised us the work would be done and as usual, nothing was done that needed to be. We canceled the Contract and was promised a refund. According to his words (in an email) we would receive full payment in 4 weeks. We have received nothing after 11 weeks. He gives every excuse. Don't full for it.

      I agree to refund the amount agreed upon. 
      8899.00. Due to unexpected issues in the company we are anticipating closing the doors and not contracting anymore. 2023 was a difficult year for business and I was unable to uphold my obligations.

      I agreed to mail a check of $2,000.00 and send a photo of the check for confirmation. And at the end of February send the refund balance of ******** to resolve this issue. 

      I apologize for the delay and taking your patience for granted on this project and I will make it my priority to get the refund completed.

      I agree with this information and the refund has been delayed but I now have the means to make the refund in full. I would like to either drop off a check or send it in the mail whichever is preferred by **** at this point. I do apologize for the delay. 

      This issue was a result of me managing unforeseen health issues and having contractors collect money, but not perform the work. I take full responsibility and will issue the refund in full..

      The handle of these affairs have been taken over by an accountant. This refund is being remitted in 2 payments to settle and conclude the cancellation of this project. The refund will include an additional amount for the delay in remittance . The entire refund is the amount of $9,000.00

      This is continuation of a previous review. It is now July 2nd and I am still waiting on final payment. ****** keeps on promising he will pay and doesn't keep his word. I am so disgusted with his promises. I feel sorry for anyone who decides to hire him. Refund

      Hello,
      I would like to respond to this complaint on behalf of MC2 Sunrooms. This request for a refund has been approved and accepted and a check of $5,000 was sent to the client and deposited. The remaining balance of $3,899.00 to complete the refund of $8,899.00 will be issued immediately via a check sent directly to the residence via certified mail. Once the check is deposited by the client , MC2 will follow up with this complaint to make sure it is resolved.

      We were quoted 65k for a 320 square foot addition with a loft to be added to our house. The contract was for a shell, foundation, and the exterior to be finished. (Im taking care of finishing the interior.)I hired him back in January 8 2023, and I probably should have taken action a lot sooner than I did. Today is Dec. 1 2023. He quoted me a 3 month job but this was never included in the contract.My brand new roof leaked in 2 places. 1 leak flooded my garage. Which lucky me I got to clean up. I have had to clean up after them multiple times.The roof only has 1 wall that is completely supported from the ground up.He told me he would finish the job before my summer break so I could finish the interior. Work didnt start until August 8 2023. Then he told me he would have the project completed before Thanksgiving at least have the dumpster moved from my house before my whole family came over. The dumpsters still here.Yesterday, I had enough and I called the city inspector and I have 13+ code violations on our addition. The city inspector didnt even complete his inspection he stopped working because he filled up an entire inspection sheet and still had more to write.We also missed 3 city inspections and the prefoundation pour wasnt even completely inspected. The architect and structural drawings dont match the work that has been done.They changed from using jbolts but didnt tell me.The ***** is out of code and I could have more roof leakage. The roof isnt properly mounted to the walls.The engineer drawings never showed they would build over my garage yet half my garage roof now has a roof over it.My windows are less than 3 from the ground and arent tempered glass.On one wall the studs dont even run up the entire wall. They tried covering this with plywood.My sump pump hose and electrical wire were supposed to be run under the foundation although this never happened.The list only goes on but Im limited words.

      I appreciate the communication and clear expectations from the homeowner to finish his project. 

      I do agree that some of the delays and issues were communication are my fault. I did have some serious personal setbacks during the process of this project, and some of the delays, especially the longer ones were caused by ************ which was acknowledged by the supervisor of Excel.

       

      I asked that you allow us time to address the remainder of the complaints if you notice in the last observation of the city inspector, which was also done under the observation of the Design, professional, and structural engineer. Seven out of the 13 violations were not in fact valid. Therefore, we will address the three items this week that are notated on the latest Observation document, which is attached to this response. I plan to have the signed Engineer letter, confirming that the framing is in fact structural, and will pass a building inspection. After which we can proceed with finishing the electrical siding everything on the outside.

      We met over a year ago as of tomorrow. Since the last post we had another roof leak. I asked for the tyvek paper to be fixed last week and its still not fixed.

      I agree that your communication is bad. You and your framers had questions with the code violations and I had to set up another consultation for you.

      I do believe excel dragged their feet except when I called it took me a few hours but I was able to schedule work immediately. If yall had followed up with xcel, work would have been on schedule but no body followed up so yes they did take a long time.

      I dont know how many promises have been made but Im looking at a roll off dumpster that was supposed to be removed Nov 17th and its still sitting in the same spot. Also Im still not sure when anyone will be at my house to finish the job that was started in August.

      I do understand the frustration. We have not been building the addition for 1 year but we have been working together for that long. 

      We didnt call for a rough frame inspection because we were not yet ready for that. I typically either have the engineer come out for a site visit or do an observation with photos and videos before or during the inspection. I scheduled the engineer and the homeowner scheduled the city inspector. The inspector let us know what needed to be signed off on by the engineer which we will proceed with. There are just 3 items a that inspector would like to see before he passes the frame and the homeowner is allowed to insulate and drywall. 

      Ill respond to these items and what has been completed and approved. 

       

       


      Violations=
      1 Hanger screws (completed 12/13 observed by the engineer)
      2 Anchor bolts (fixed 12/12 observed by the engineer)
      3 Post caissons (Photos observed by the engineer and will be included in his approval letter)
      4 ***** wall 2x4 wall Trim studs need full bearing to top plate (will be completed 12/15)

      6 Stud shoes ( 2 shoes needed)

      This was a miscommunication. It was communicated directly to my foundation guys and they understood that it was not to be buried since there were issues in the past with clogging and no accessibility. They evidently misunderstood, but I take responsibility for the error and will do what is desired with this pvc . It does meet code and is 3 away from the foundation.

      11 Eve extending beyond (fixed 12/6)

      This one made no sense to me
      12 (3) 2x6 for 48 - not sure but the inspector crossed it off. 

      Lastly,

      Id like to say formally that I have had the toughest time this year with my company as well as my personal life. My sister passed away an and it was a tragedy for her family as my wife and I were legal guardians for he son who doesnt have a father in his life. It doesnt make it ok for me to negatively affect the lives of **** and ****, but I have been trying to make this right and I keep making more mistakes and lacking organization and communication. Im determined to resolve this and give them there back yard and there life back. I wish things had went differently and were finished by now.

      Still we arent communicating well and besides someone coming out to look at the siding and an engineer coming out to review my options with what to do with the roof over my existing roof no work has been completed.

      the Electrical work isnt complete I have 1 outlet from my existing outlet and no lights. My door isnt completely in place. The construction paper still hasnt been completed still have exposed wood. Not all the 2x6s go all the way up to the top plate. The skylights havent been framed. The stud shoes havent been added. A stud isnt facing the correct direction and still has yet to be fixed.

      12/15 I came home to my second loft being completely removed without my knowledge. I was then told they were following the engineer drawings that was sent out on 12/11 which I never saw until 12/15. In the plans they had as the engineer quoted a ******* of 2x4s. Which basically ruined the entire space and it would be completely worthless even for storage as 2x4s would be every 24 running north to south and every 16 running east to west. Roughly 200 specifically cut 2x4s in this area.

      after speaking with the engineer he provided multiple routes but I was never made aware of any other options. 

      Yes, I understand more time will be added except if I was involved in this conversation on 12/11 we wouldnt be additional week behind schedule.

      Let me remind everyone this projects original completion date was before Summer time and the length of work was guesstimated at around 3 months. We started work in August.

      I hired this business to do a renovation, I paid 65K, I was very specific with what I asked for, I did everything I could to make it flow, I got a POD and stayed in a hotel, it is a small townhome, a straightforward renovation, I was in the hotel 8 weeks longer than planned which was 4K more, I have a vaulted ceiling with beams, they are dark brown, I told this company to paint them the same color, he painted them white, then re-painted an ugly brown color, I have since hired another company who painted them the right color, I was told I was getting an open type concept for the kitchen that would be floating shelves, I got white cabinets, I would have picked gray, I was never asked, I asked for 3 doors to be reframed and not painted over, he painted over them, 2 have cracks at the top, I asked for frameless shower doors, I specifically told him I did not want sliding doors, I also told him why, he first put sliding doors in the top bathroom, I was really upset, we discussed and 2 days later he put sliding doors in the downstairs bathroom, I was furious, the next day he said send me a picture of what you want, we were 10 weeks into the renovation, I asked for light blue carpet and got an off white color, his wife he said is a designer and she will know, I disagree, I asked for 2 walls to be moved and paid for that, after 4 weeks he said he could not move one and after 8 weeks he said he could not move the 2nd one, I have had 3 professionals look and all three say the walls could have been moved, the vanity in the top floor bathroom was not what I asked for, I bought a new one and had someone else put it, the vanity in the downstairs bathroom I did not ask for, it is to small and I told him and his wife it has to have drawers, it does not have drawers, I have to buy a new one and have someone put it in, at 10 weeks in he did not have very much done, on 6/05/23 (we started on 4/03/23) i asked him to have one bathroom done and useable so i could come back on 6/13/23,

      I got a response from the ** but it seems you needed more information, I paid this company 65K to do a straight forward renovation for a small townhome, it started on 4/03/23 and was supposed to take 6 weeks, I went to a hotel and got a pod so it would flow better, I was in the hotel for 3 months and 2 weeks, as far as the pod a lot of my things were thrown around like trash (I have pictures) a flat screen T.V. was put in a crawl space part on stairs and part on the ground, he also put a vanity from a bathroom with water in it in the crawl space, he had a roll off it should have been dumped in, my crawl space was encapsulated approx. a year ago and it is a mess now, I was told i would have a wall moved in the bathroom to make it bigger, could not be done, I asked the owner 3 times if that was going to be taken off the final bill, he would not answer, I was to have a small wall removed in a bedroom between 2 closets he said that could not be done, I have 3 professional that say it can be done, I asked for 3 doors to be reframed before painting, I specifically said do not just repaint, he repainted them, 2 have cracks, I asked for frameless shower doors for 2 bathroom, I specifically said I do not like sliders and the reasons why, i had to fie him, I asked him on 6/05/23 to have one bathroom completed by 6/09/23 so I could go back on 6/13/23 (I took the day off), we were 10 weeks in, on 6/09/23 not one bathroom was useable and he left me with no water, I had no choice but to fire him and hire another company, I have now spent another 17K to redo and finish what he did not, he started 2 pocket doors but never finished, I was supposed to get 7 new doors and only got 5, there are many other things that i do not have enough space, I have asked for 25K back, he states multiple times in emails in text that he is sorry, he knows he messed up, he knows he made a mistake, I think it is only fair that I get at least 25K back

      This is a formal response to the complaint made by my client ****************************

       

      due to some unforeseen occurrences, this project completed however, the amount of money we made it to me as a contract was $59,000 and not collect the remaining balance on the project. I also $2400 for her to complete some of the project that was not completed by MC2 . I understand that this was a frustrating process for the homeowner. However, she was indecisive as to what she wanted in terms of finishes for paint, bathroom, and other items. There was also additional work performed at the home that was in the original estimate, and that was taken care of materials and labor out of the pocket of the contractor. Even so I have repeatedly reached out to the homeowner to try to come to an agreement to resolve these issues without it. I am still waiting on a resolution from the homeowner. This is still pending.

      I am rejecting this response because: he is lying, I was never indecisive about anything, that is a lie, he and his wife supposedly a designer did things with out asking me, they put white cabinets in my kitchen, she told me everything was going to be floating shelves, we never talked about cabinets, I have beams on my ceiling, I told him to paint them the same color (dark brown) they painted them white, they put a navy blue vanity in the upstairs bathroom, I never said I wanted that, i have already bought the one I wanted and paid someone to put it in, in the downstairs bathroom they put a 24" vanity no drawers, you can easily fir a 30" I specifically told them it had to have drawers, they got one that looks like it has drawers but it doesn't, he is a liar, he lied to multiple times, this project started 4/03/23, I was in a hotel for 3 months and 2 weeks because he could not get it done, I near changed one thing from the start of it, he and his wife did things thinking I would like it and when i didn't they were offended, there are multiple things that were not done or were done incorrectly, I have many emails and text with him saying he is sorry, he made mistakes, he messed up, I have asked for 25K back, i had to pay another company to get things done that he didn't, like 2 pocket doors, getting the bathrooms useable, at 10 weeks still not one bathroom was useable, 2 closets, one I asked to just have shelves put in for an extra storage but he never did it, one had a small wall between 2 closets i asked for the wall to be removed and made into one big closets, one side had permanent shelves, he just left it, I have 3 professionals that say the wall can be removed, there is a lot he did not do that was promised, he lied to me multiple times, I do not think he knows what he is doing, I asked for frameless shower doors in both bathrooms, I specifically told him not put sliders in from the start and why, he put sliders in both bathrooms, one he put in 2 days after I saw the first one, we discussed it, when i saw the second bathroom he then said send me a picture, I told him no because we were already 10 or 11 weeks in, I needed to get out of the hotel, he promises anything you want without really thinking about it, that is not my fault, he made me believe he knows how to do anything, i trusted him, he took advantage of me, he took my money and made a lot of promises, I never changed one thing from the start, that is not true, i actually think he is a pathological liar he lied so much

      I have made an agreement with this business, he is going to pay me back 20K over 15 months, which is a long time, I am extremely disgusted with this company and do feel like they should not be in business, everything I wrote is true, at this time it is in my best interest to take the offer we agreed on, the 20K is only for the money I had to spend after letting him go and for the hotel 8 weeks longer than what was planned, it does not include the things I was promised in the original agreement, I still have many things to do and replace, he lost all the parts to my blinds and have to get new ones, I was hoping to still get a call from the BBB to discuss further

      I do not appreciate the owner ****** saying unforeseen expenses, he is a liar, he was given 60K to do a straight forward renovation, he just doesn't know what he is doing and spent the money probably on his personnel things, I did not get many of the things he promised and I paid for, I did not get a bathroom wall moved, I asked him 3 times if that comes off the bill, he would not answer me, a small wall between 2 closets was to be removed, he did not do that, no reimbursement, I did not get a fireplace under as flat screen T.V. in a living room, I did not a ceiling fan for a bedroom, I did not get the new front door and back door, both were in the original contract that had the cost, I did not get 2 frameless shower doors that I asked for from the beginning and he said no problem, I now have to pay someone else to put them in, it would be nice if he could just stick to the facts and not make excuses for himself and his wife, they both just did want they wanted and did not listen to me, i have to redo the carpet because they picked a light tan color, I asked for a light blue or sage, I just hope he sticks to his agreement to pay me back 20K, or we will back to square one
