Review for RUUD Heating and Plumbing in ****** ******** On 2nd of February ****, my family and I Invited a RUUD Heating and Plumbing tech to do a routine check on our furnace. The advertisement from a cold call was a furnace check for $69. The tech came in and finished his review stating major problems with our furnace After a quick conversation, the technician stated that we needed a new furnace with the cost of being $5000 to $7000 dollars. . Statements like coils needed to be replaced, the furnace was leaking carbon monoxide, and problems with motor wheels leaking oil. My daughter stated that he was in and out of our house supposedly taking pictures of the problems that existed. I was not home at the time. My thinking was that my furnace was not leaking anything because we have carbon monoxide detectors in our house and no oil on our basement floor. A second opinion was needed. I called a competitor that my friends had recommended. That tech came in, completed a routine check and tune-up and stated that there was no carbon monoxide leak, and that the problem was that the furnace was short cycling and that he fixed the problem. His price was $139. Because of the in and out, and the bad report of RUUD Co. I began to believe that I could have been the victim of a heating and plumbing scam and my ******** neighbors needed to hear about it or at least give the information to the Better Business Bureau. I feel that this company, RUUD Heating and Plumbing, was not being truthful in their diagnosis of our furnace problem. This, in my opinion, was not honest, deceitful and fraudulent. I also believe that if my son-in- law had not surprised the tech, he would have sabotaged our furnace to make his statements true. This company should not be trusted by any consumer in our community and our *****************. These deceptive commercial practices should be investigated and stopped.*****************************
