The moving guys came and they refuse to walk through the water to put the stuff in our container. It rains in *******, so yes, theres a lot of water. Its ankle deep. . All they wouldve had to do is walk through it to put the stuff where it needed to be. Now they are refusing and I have to rent storage for them to go put it in a storage facility for me to pay for. How can we rectify how much money I spent for this move When they are not doing their job? And now Im spending more money. I would gladly move my own stuff if I was not in my late 40s and my husband was not a disabled veteran. We cannot do it and now I have to figure out how to get it from storage to my container. We bought a 40ft container that would hold it all. There is ankle deep water around it because of rain. We wear water boots. They literally said they didnt want their shoes wet. Do these guys not work in rain or snow or sleet?

While under the normal circumstances of working in the rain, we do normally work as long as it does not pose a safety hazard to our crews. If we would have backed the truck up, it could have sunk. It is not a safe environment for moving crews, the truck and the customers items to be handling goods at a site with these conditions. I have attached a photo of the site for reference. While we strive to provide the very best possible move for all of our clients, we also have to consider the safety of our people. If conditions arise that are unforeseeable (acts of God) such as rain, then it is up to the moving crew to determine if there are safety concerns and if they should proceed with the delivery. In this case, the conditions were not safe for the crews, truck or the customers items to be moved across the water.

I am rejecting this response because: yes. Puddles are terrible I know. I walk in it everyday. And he could have backed the truck up. We were more than willing if he got stuck to pay to get him out. Your guys didnt want to work and you didnt make them. You sun contracted it out and just want to keep our money. Now we are paying for storage again

      Sincerely,

For perspective, a 40 foot container is 8 feet wide. Attached photo. This is not a simple "small puddle" as the customer is indicating.

It is our responsibility to ensure the safety of our crews and equipment when performing work. It is also our obligation to ensure that your items arrive safety and prevent measures that can damaged your belongings. There could be sticks, shrubs, logs, etc. under the water that crews can trip on and hurt themselves while carrying your furniture. The truck can sink into the water. You may be willing to pay for the truck to be towed out of the water, but what about damages to the truck or damages to your your items due to the truck sinking or damage claims against any liability to workers whom may trip and fall and get hurt in the water? Those are the things that need to be considered here. The decision to not move items across a body of water for the safety of everyone involved is in the better interest of everyone. Our contractual obligation to you ends when your items were placed into storage. Acts of God (Rain) are not under the control of the Moving Company. Storage and Re-delivery of your items will be at your own expense.

I am rejecting this response because: it was literally ankle deep. Not waist deep with torrential rains  it was a sunny, hot day and the water is walked in all day ankle or less deep  your company just ***** and doesnt want to take responsibility  period

We have recently moved and paid good money to Buehler Moving storage to move from Alabama to **********. This is not our first move moving across state lines. This is by far the worse logistics company I have ever worked with. They could not give us exact days on pick up, delivery, and now we are trying to schedule a trash pickup. Previous companies managed to give us exact dates all within a timely manner. A logistics company should be able to accommodate schedules within two weeks out and not have the client work on the companies schedule, rather the company should accommodate the client. I have performed logistics in a professional setting for work and I have worked closely with managers, directors, and VPs with logistics companies and if you cannot schedule something on clients timeline within 2 weeks, you are a poorly run business. Timelines should be when the client needs deliveries especially for this type of work. It has been two months since we have been trying to schedule trash pickup. All we are asking if for trash pickup to occur sometime in the first two weeks of January. This is far enough out you should be able to schedule. If you can not accommodate this timeline, then give us compensation so we can pay a more professional company to go out and pickup our trash. My wife is pregnant and about to have our baby and we need out garage space cleared out. We have worked with ******* who has been extremely rude to my wife. Poor customer service will get businesses no where. ******* does not listen and says that this is how things are done. This is not how a business should conduct itself. She has also gave the excuse that company is short staffed and trash pickup is not a priority. This is not our problem, company should figure out how to get staff and since we have been in line, we should get priority over a move. It is not our problem to figure out logistics schedules and it is not that difficult to do. Finish job or give us a refund.

      Hello,

As we understand, the customer did call multiple times for a debris pick up.There are a few challenges that should be clarified. The first challenge is that **********, ** is approximately 96 miles from ***********, ** where our office is located. This means that this is approximately a 200-mile round trip for a crew. With current labor shortages all over America as well as the demand for services in our industry, we are doing everything that we can to ensure prompt scheduling for all of our customers.

I would also note that this move was paid for by the company of the client as a National Account customer. Therefore, delays may be caused because the moving company has to obtain approval from the national account for the additional cost to go further than normal for a debris pickup. If they do not approve the charges, then we will not get paid for our services. How long this approval takes to obtain is out of our control.
We did contact the customer on 12/17/2021 to see if we could schedule the pick up for 12/20/2021. We were advised that this was too short of a notice ad they would not be available. They were to check to see if they could get a friend or neighbor to help and we never heard back from the customer on that.

That being said, we have taken the measures finish the joband the debris pickup has been completed.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

The company made the effort to come in first two weeks of this year so this is resolved to my satisfaction. Company had approved this back in September and labor shortages should be handled internally. It is still the responsibility of the company to do things in a timely manner. We were patient and we were unable to utilize our garage the whole time we waited and with a baby about to come this was our frustration.

      Sincerely,
