My experience at Mountain Ridge Dentistry was great with the Dentist and Dental Hygenist, Kelly. However my experience with Laura, the Business Manager, was less than average. In fact it was a bait and switch issue. I originally came in and was told that my co-pay for my peridontal cleaning would be $32.00 per quadrant. In fact she even printed out a treatment plan with those figures on it. However, when I got to the office for the first treatment on one side of my mouth, it magically became $120, for half of my mouth. I paid it and had a great cleaning by Kelly. Next day I went in to begin the process of getting a crown on an implant I had to finish up. The original charge was going to be $635.70, that didn't change. However the teeth cleanings were right before and right after that so with an additional $220.00 to pay for that, it wasn't in my budget to pay $635.70 at one shot. Laura suggested I could make payments which I agreed to, over a 60 day period of time which led me to believe my first payment would be $211.90. Not in my budget after the cleaning increase. I showed up to my appointment and was immediately told I needed to pay $317.85 and the balance in 30 days. I walked out without getting the work done. I had the final cleaning appointment the following Monday. Walked in, after driving 40 minutes in a snow storm, to be told I had to pay $240.00 to get this side done. Up $120 from what I was expecting and told it would be. So, I walked out of that appointment vowing to never return. I'm not up for the bait and switch program. She told me it was because of the insurance I had, which is the one she actually recommended. Either Laura clearly doesn't know what she's doing, or does and pulls this bait and switch program often and has gotten away with it so she keeps doing it. She offered no solution to help me work things out and keep my business, even though she admittedly made the initial mistake with the quote she gave me, in writing.

Hello, Corinne! We regret you had a poor experience as we work hard to communicate clearly with each of our patients about how their insurance plans work. Your plan requires set copays, and these were noted on your treatment plan from your first visit with us and we had many conversations regarding how your plan works thereafter. We understand copays can be frustrating, and we tried our best to communicate these with you verbally and with documentation from your insurance provider. Many of our conversations seemed successful at the time, but ultimately it seems you were unhappy with how your insurance plan requires you to pay for services. You frightened our team at your last visit when you verbally assaulted our pregnant business manager, and slammed and damaged one of our internal doors. We wish you the best in finding a new dental provider as we no longer feel comfortable or safe serving you.
