In September 2021, I purchased email lists databases from FranchiseComplaints.Org. The parent company seems to be Defamation Defenders. After multiple emails following up to receive the email lists, I was always met with excuses on when they would deliver what I paid for. When they did contact me back after weeks of being unresponsive, I would receive incorrect and uncompleted files. None of which what was promised when I paid for the service. They always ignored my inquiries on when I would receive the correct databases. Now they are unresponsive when I asked for a refund. I always gave them the benefit of the doubt and would request someone from management to talk to me to resolve the issue. Now, unfortunately, I have to file this complaint. I was promised 10,000 verified email contacts and I maybe received less than 50. All of this is documented by email.Customer response

Hello!
We were told that this dispute was closed since BBB couldn’t find a relationship between FranchiseComplaints.org & Defamation Defenders.
Here is the 9/2/21 invoice from franchise complaints for $1500.00, when it showed up on our credit card statement the company says: Defamation Defenders.
This is why we filed the complaint under Defamation Defenders since Franchise Complaints could not be found as a company in the BBB database.

The list I purchased, and the cause of this complaint, is that of "Restaurant Owners Email List with ****** Verified Email Contacts" for $1,500 that is actually still available for purchase on their website franchisecomplaints.org, further defrauding other unsuspecting purchasers. I never received anywhere near ****** emails of restaurant owners, not more than 1%. The first list received via what looked like an automated system was that of actual restaurant locations for quick service restaurants, not their owners. Across the course of the 6+months of trying to receive the appropriate list that I purchased, with weeks of no response from the supplier therein, I received a restaurant list of full service restaurants, restaurant owners names without contact information, corporate employees of franchises, etc. If they are selling a list, the list should be ready to be sent to the purchaser immediately upon purchase. Once I realized that the company could not provide me with the list that was advertised on their site, I asked for a refund. After several weeks they did offer a site credit, but what good is a credit if they aren't able to fullfill the order purchased?Business response

I am rejecting this response because:- FranchiseComplaints.org is trying to lay blame on me, but as stated in email sent Sept 7, 2021 11:53am "Following up on the correct listed I purchased.Thank you" I was not delivered the original database purchased as their first bullet point claims.- FranchiseComplaints.org falsely adds "Client states that they are able to open database, they just didn't read the description correctly and purchased the database." On Sept 7, 2021 1:06pm FranchiseComplaints.org Help Desk states "It looks like you were delivered the entire Restaurant database that contains over ******* verified email contact." BUT, 1) that is NOT the list I purchased (****** verified emails for restaurant franchise owners) AND there were NO EMAILS in the list that was wrongfully sent as stated on Sept 7, 2021 at 2:25pm.To further prove that I did not "just read the description incorrectly" attached is a screenshot from their website where the database is listed for sale. Also viewable live here: https://www.franchisecomplaints.org/reports/restaurant-email-list/. The list clearly states that the database is of "RESTAURANT OWNER EMAILS"- FranchiseComplaints.org then states that we agreed to work with them to build a custom database of ****** restaurant owner emails. This is true, we did agree to this solution, but never received anywhere close to ****** restaurant owner emails. In fact, ONLY just over 100 emails were included in this remedy.They have already issued a refund so their's not much else they can provide for me, but I would like acknowledgement of wrongdoing and the database list removed from their website since the accurate database that is being sold is selling under false pretenses.
