I signed a contract and paid $4400 deposit on March 20th, 2023, to install an egress window in the basement and replace 6 existing basement windows. Contractor started work immediately, digging the hole for the egress window. He hauled off one yard of dirt then left the remain dirt on the side of the house, stating he would need it to fill in once the window well was installed. The Contractor measured the windows, then ordered them from *********** When the windows arrived at *********** the contractor reached out asking about installing them. We were out of town at the time so I told the contractor he could install them when we got back into town. When we came back into town I reached out to the contractor, they picked the windows up from ********** and delivered them to the house. He stated he was moving and would no longer be able to install them. Upon examination of the windows that were delivered, NONE of the windows will fit in the existing openings, they are all useless. I asked for Detailed estimate of the work that was done to date and a refund of the difference between deposit and the estimate for digging the hole and hauling off load of dirt. I would also like a refund for the windows since they cannot be installed.Business response

To whom this may concern,
We are aware of the situation with ******. We have reassured him that we will be making a new invoice regarding whats owed to either party( shown in the attached picture). We have also talked with him over the phone and in person regarding that we will personally go in person to measure again the windows to see if they fit. We have agreed to meet on the 27th of July. We are surprised with the course of action he has decided to proceed to contact the BBB when we have been in contact with the issue and assured him it will be solved( he seemed to understand). Hopefully this statement has cleared some understanding of the situation.
