Steadfast Builders replaced *******. The owner, ******************* got very upset when I refused to let him look at my insurance claim for anything other than the roof information. He was trying to find other money on my claim he could bill me for. He called my husband very upset and threatened to use other measures to get the information. I requested the warranty information several times and ************************* refused to give it to me until the bill was paid in full- which it was on Dec 15, 2023. We met at a bank, since I did not feel comfortable having him at my house, and I gave him the balance due. That was 2 months ago and I have not received the warranty information. This was a very contentious situation and they are refusing to live up to what they promised.

A contractual agreement was made between Steadfast Builders and *********************** on August 9, 2023 for a full roof. (see attached agreement).  During this appointment it is made aware that we do the scope of work for the agreed amount based off of what the insurance pays- thus we need to see the insurance claim. The first payment is due either when the material is delivered OR the day we begin to do the full roof replacement.  The first payment of $28,200 was made on October 16, 2023.
Due to high demand in the roofing industry the roof was replaced on October 16, 2023.
After the work is completed, Steadfast Builders sends a final bill to the insurance company, which usually includes code upgrades, tax and permit fees.  Again, at this point, once Steadfast builders and State Farm have agreed to a final price, they (State Farm) will send out an updated claim. This gives Steadfast Builders the final agreed payment price.  ******************** refused to share the insurance document with Steadfast Builders as well as not allowing us to communicate with their insurance company (State Farm).
It was during this time that ******************* called *** to make him aware that we needed to see that final paperwork so we can close out their account. No threats were ever made. *** was very understanding and stated that he would speak to *********************.
********************* did reach out to get a warranty, and at that point I explained that once the account has been paid in full we would be happy to send her the warranty.  She asked if we could meet at her bank as she wanted to meet in a public setting. We agreed.  ******************* met ********************* on December 18th. She provided payment in the amount of $10,685.63. At this meeting she demanded that ******************* sign her document that she did not owe any more money.  We have never received a copy of this document.
********************* did send us a screen shot of the roof only (not the tax or the dump fee) so we are going off of the first insurance scope.
Here is a breakdown of the total amount due:
      Roof: $39,385.63
      Tax: $650.61
      Haul debris/dump fee: $193.91
      Total of: $40,230.15
At this point in time, we have only received $38,885.63 thus making her account short $1,344.52.

Because we are a ***************** and only want to due what is right- we have registered her to receive her the Certainteed warranty she has been requesting.  We feel that escalation is necessary and we have been more than accommodating ********************* needs.   We just felt the need to share our side of this.
She should be receiving or has already received her Certainteed warranty as this point.
Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to either *** or **************************

      Complaint: 21271925

I am rejecting this response because:

I have still not received the warranty information as of Feb 17, 2024.  ****** stated I should have already received it.  I will check the postmark if and when I receive it. Since this was a complaint it should have been sent my registered or certified mail.

****** needs to read the document her husband signed- and witnessed by ******************* at FirstBank, it clearly states the amount paid is IN FULL!!!   No further amount is due. I have the email proof that she received a copy of the document before it was signed.  She said she had to have it before her husband would show up to sign it.

The dump fee was for my gazebo to be removed.   My agent at State Farm informed me of the amount due to the roofer. I PAID THAT AMOUNT!

I am requesting a WRITTEN statement retracting the claim I owe more money.  I will need that document for my records.

You would think as a CHRISTIAN *************  they would just send the warranty information!  It does not cost them anything and it was supposed to be given to me when I paid at the bank.   I even called their ***********************, because he was at my house when I decided to use this company.  He was working for them.  He did not call me back or respond in any way.  I have done all I can to get them to live up to their promise.  Why the drawn our process?

AGAIN,  I NEED THE WARRANTY INFORMATION FROM CERTAINTEED FOR THE SHINGLES AND WARRANTY INFORMATION FROM STEADFAST.

      Sincerely,

      *********************************

The warranty is sent by email; it is also attached here (again) for your records. (I'm not sure if they send a copy by mail or not as we do everything online)

We are not asking for any further money- was simply stating the facts of the account.

We have tried to make this right and hopefully this will be the end of it.
