In April 2022 I took my Ram **** to Roadrunner Transmission and Diesel to have my transmission issues fixed which resulted in replacing the entire transmission costing $6,500. At the time I was informed from Roadrunner that there was a 3 year warranty on the transmission. In less than 2 month after having roadrunner service my truck the new transmission started having troubles shifting again. I brought it back to roadrunner in June to be looked at and they told me that the transmission was damaged due to an internal issue and would have to be replaced again. They said the 3 year warranty was from the Dodge dealership that they got the transmission from and that I needed to take my truck to the dealership reassuring me that the warranty will cover this problem.The dealership was backed up for the next 2 months but Roadrunner told me that I could continue driving my truck in the meantime since the warranty will cover replacing it.In August the dealership diagnosed the issue was from a cracked trans heater that was mixing coolant and transmission fluid throughout my truck resulting in $14,000 worth of damage. The warranty does not cover the damage because it was an external issue that was causing all the problems to begin with. I then went back to roadrunner since they misdiagnosed the problem saying it was an internal transmission issue covered under warranty when in reality it was an external. They told me it was just bad luck on my end and that they would not take responsibility for the damage. I asked if they could offer any solutions like flushing the transmission and replacing any parts. They said there was already too much damage done but would send me a quote regardless. They told me I would have to get an entirely new transmission installed. Roadrunner misdiagnosed my truck to begin with and will not take responsibility for their negligence. They continuously misinformed me throughout this entire process resulting in $14,000 worth of damage to my truck.Business response

Roadrunner Transmission and Diesel replaced ****************** transmission in his Ram **** with a transmission from the manufacturer, making the warranty coverage provided by the manufacturer. The manufacturer's warranty, as with Roadrunner's warranty, does not cover damage to the transmission caused by external components, which is what the heater exchanger (transmission cooler) is. When ************** returned to us with complaints of improper shifting, he was advised to take it to the dealer as it was covered under their warranty. At that time, the damage was already done to the transmission. Continued driving of the vehicle did not change that or make the damage worse. The dealer determined that it was caused by an external component and therefor not covered under their warranty. When ************** returned to Roadrunner asking about a solution such as flushing the transmission and replacing damaged parts, he was provided with a quote to do this, which stated that no warranty was given or implied that this would solve the problems that the truck was having. ************** did not proceed with this, and did not respond until this complaint was filed. ************** claims that Roadrunner misdiagnosed his truck to begin with. His original transmission problems were correctly diagnosed with hard shifts between gears and burnt transmission fluid, indicating damage to the transmission. The external heater exchange was working properly at the time and was not replaced. The truck ran properly until the failure of the heater exchange, indicating that the original diagnosis was correct.
