We hired ****** and Catalyst Landscaping to do a retaining wall, leveling of yard, sod and sprinklers to the tune of over 40K. ****** was rarely available to answer questions to his crew or give detailed directions. The crew often sat at the house, awaiting materials to show up for days with nothing to do. When I approached ****** about it, he said "it's early season, they are used to it". The crews were frustrated and often times had underpowered tools for the job. The other construction crews onsite for the house saved them days of work ****************** the existing wall with a backhoe because we all felt terrible for them. ****** would tell me and the crew different things leaving us all frustrated. We had paid to have ************************************************************************** many loads. The project went on weeks after originally scoped. We asked on multiple occasions if the backfill at the retaining wall should be compacted ahead of sod (as we have had to do before). ****** and the crew told us it would be fine. A week after the sod was in and the sprinklers were on, we noticed settling at the wall area and now have a 4 inch drop in the yard in spots. They left areas of the yard not finished and told us they would come back. We started this conversation in April and have been pushed off for months (now July). The crew felt terrible and told us that ****** owed them money and they would not finish the items that needed support because they had not been paid. The crew of guys were nice and clearly subcontractors who have also been taken on a ride by Catalyst landscaping. We ended up having to do a few items with the sprinklers on our own as well because they never came back after being promised they would. I want the wall and areas that sunk to be rectified and some reimbursement for the work we had to do on our own. We were really hoping to use them for many more projects in the future but were shocked that they now no longer respond to us.
