Unprofessional practices and over-charged before work was completed. No response to my moving claims to Johnson.Business response

The customer has neither filed a claim in compliance with the terms of the contract, nor has the customer paid for services rendered. All charges must be paid in full before the company is required to honor a claim. ********'s claim must be in writing, supported by a paid freight bill and filed with the company within thirty (30) days after delivery of the goods.
These terms as clearly outlined in V. Filing of Claim - Notice in the contract signed by the customer.

I moved from ****** to ********* in 2016 and put part of my items in Storage at the Moving Company's warehouse. October 24 2023, I took my items out of storage using another moving company. Prior to the new moving company, I inspected the items and found damage on furniture. the people at Johnson Moving also saw the damage and was aware that they caused the damage and knew that the new moving company was not at fault. Johnson Moving and Storage is now saying that they are not responsible for the damage and is refusing to fix the furniture damaged.Business response

Neither the customer, nor the other carrier she chose to remove the items from our warehouse noted any items damaged at the time of transfer of the goods. We are not liable for damages not noted that *** have occurred after the items left our care, custody, and control.Customer response

Johnson is incorrect. It was discussed at length and ********************************* got in my face and was very belligerent about it. She was most unprofessional. She knows about all the damage.Customer response

You will need to talk to all involved that day. The behavior was beyond egregious and most unprofessional. I can not believe Johnson Storage would have ***************************** as their manager or in their company. I have provided all the written data I have as well as provided the photos to Johnson Storage (****************) that shows the damage while the items were still in their storage facility. Johnson ******************************************************** moved me a few times plus I had many items in storage. When it was all finally delivered to me in *********** there was so much damage to *********************** they now want me to do their dirty work and supply receipts for damaged items. they are making they carelessness now my problem to deal with and I feel they are taking no responsibilities. I have sent them photos of many damaged items and they are not being pro active on this situation.Business response

As a disclosed household goods agent, Johnson cannot be liable for damages arising out of Uniteds performance under its interstate Bill of Lading. Johnson's Moving and Storage omitted third party take down charges for TVs, a sound system, and other. This was discovered on the day of packing. Johnson's found a third party to take care of these charges but never informed us of any incremental charges. On July 8 my credit card was charged $1,267.34 the above charges without my express written approval and also notified me by email after the move. When I got the email after the move I emailed the salesperson and moving coordinator letting them know I would not pay these charges as they never obtained written approval. Then on July 9 after seeing the charges I emailed the sales person and moving coordinator -still no response. I have also emailed ********************************* corporate office today June 11 and no response.These charges were never approved by me and need to be refunded in full.Business response

****'s Moving *** was hired by my rental property to move us in and out of permanent apartment to a temporary one for about 3 weeks. Then we are moved back in to our permanent apartment again. While in the transition a small mirror got broke. But did not report it. But moving back to my apartment my side sofa table went missing. I showed before pictures of the table. They are refusing to pay for a replacement table.Business response

So many issues with the company. First, I was told that my move would be handled by Johnson Storage and Moving and no other companies -- this is what they claim on their site. However, the initial truck brought my boxes to a warehouse, let it sit for 5 day, then had a different company deliver it. My dresser was destroyed, they lost all of the screws and assembly parts to my bed (making it worthless), and lost several boxes. Further, they delivered many boxes and items that weren't mine.I have tried for a week to get in contact with someone at the company, but there is only voicemail and they never return the call.Business response

Johnson Moving and Storage set up a "virtual" interview to make an estimate to move our household goods. They confirmed the interview time but never contacted me nor have they returned my phone calls to ask why they didn't contact me.Business response

Our representative called the customer both the morning and afternoon of the scheduled survey. The customer did not answer either call. At 4:30 that afternoon, he called the office (not the cell number left by our representative) and left a message not to call agaiin and that he was moving with another company.Initial Complaint

I hired the moving company to move my furniture from *********, ** to ***********, **. One of the item that was moved was a large mirror. Upon arrival, this was broken. The moving company had charged me $100 extra to pack the mirror themselves. I have tried chatting with their claims department and I was only given a claim number. Upon reaching out multiple times with the claims department, I am not receiving any updates or responses now and it has been several weeks. Over a month for the initial claim email. order number L900-38-21 date of move 10/20/2021 During the course of moving my household goods my 2 gold rings went missing.Replacement value $4,500.When I filed a claim the response was : " You signed for receipt of items." Can't help you.Yet they made it impossible to know what items were missing since they demanded I sign the receipt on the spot.. How was I to ascertain items missing with out being able to check. It took several days to unpack my belongings.The shipment contained 20+ boxes and numerous household items.I request $4,500 compensation for the missing rings.Business response

Police Investigator reached out to us and spoke to both crew members. Both movers were cleared. Our sales associate also was on the site during the move. Customer did all his own packing. Crew and sales asociate also stated, at the time there were other people working in the home. To date the customer has refused to pay for the move.Customer response
