      Our roof was damaged by a storm on August 5th, 2020 we then proceeded to contact our insurance company and the roofing company in our area. I attached a timeline that my daughter put together of the entire back and forth for over a year to get the section of the roof replaced. The roofing company would not repair the section of the roof and the insurance company was not going to pay for the entire roof to be replaced, since it had just been replaced a few years before. We had to endure no responses, horrible communication, and finally, our roof started leaking inside our living room. It should not take over a year for a roofing company to fix our roof! We only needed a small section of it fixed. They had put a tarp on the damaged part of the roof a year ago and then, it finally blew off and while it was off the water was getting into our house. They finally came out and put another tarp on after my daughter had to constantly communicate with your company. We eventually had to hire another company to fix the repair, so our entire living room and the roof were ruined and now you are asking for $900 for your incompetence? I am not sure we understand how we owe your company anything at this point, please explain this to us. If we have to take this further, we may need to review the damages inside the interior.

      Good morning,

      My name is ***** ******, I'm a partner with Simon Bros Roofing and Restoration, LLC.
      This project came to us as a hail damage roof replacement. The claim was called in and the adjuster did his inspection, In the interim we tarped the worst of the damaged area. The insurance company would only pay for a portion of the roof and Simon Bros Roofing informed the owner that we would not do a partial roof. After that we continued to communicate with the insurance company sending pictures and requested a re-insertion. Sometime later the adjuster said they would not do a re-inspect. So as far as we knew the project was not going forward and informed the owner that, as the contractor we had gone as far as we could. 

      At some point the daughter started dealing with adjuster on behalf of her parents. The first we knew of this was in mid-June of 2021. Subsequent to that, we submitted our estimate to replace the roof along with an **** report showing the shingles were in fact discontinued. After several attempts to determine the status of the claim, *** *** emailed that a "***" was working on the revised scope to reflect a full roof replacement, by this time its mid-August. On the 8/17 the owners pick the roof color, and we ordered the material. A couple of weeks later we were notified that *** was sending yet another adjuster to look at the roof. We were not notified of the inspection date and don't know if the inspection took place or not. Some weeks later, after several attempts to get the new scope, confirming that the entire roof would be paid for, we were informed that the entire roof would not be paid for and to our knowledge that is still the case.

      After all of that, we were informed that owners did not want Simon Bros. Roofing to do the work. With that, having done two temporary repairs we invoiced $900.00 for the Repair work. The owners have not responded to our invoices.

      In response to our discussion last week, I'm writing to confirm the proposed settlement of 300.00 to be paid by Ms. ****** is acceptable to Simon Bros. Roofing and Restoration,LLC. 
      I was not aware that the settlement needed to be handled via the BBB.
