I have Home Security Centers providing service for my home. They provided security for the previous owners of the home and we have continued using them. We have been having issues with their equipment one way or other. Our alarms when it goes on wouldn't turn off even if we entered the code. We were told that it is due to old batteries and the owner of the company told me that he was on near my home and wouldn't take a minute to install the new batteries. He did say I would have to pay for the batteries. Then I get a **** charging for the batteries as well as a service charge of $80. The problem still wouldn't go away. I called to complain that there was never a service charge mentioned and i told him the problem still exists. I told him that it is the control panel and the keys are not working. Since I didn't want to pay for a new control panel asked him to swap the panels with another one in my home. He said he will do that If I took care of the pending payments including the service charge. I obliged and was told that a technician would come and swap the panels and I wouldn't have to pay any fee. When the technician came I was away running an errand and instructed my wife what the work was about. When I came home, i found a new panel. When I asked my wife, she mentioned that the technician told her that he would install a new one instead of swapping it and it's free of charge. My wife trusted him and I was surprised. Then weeks later I get a **** charging me not only a service charge of $80 but also a new equipment charge for the new panel. When I spoke to a lady and told her that i no longer trust them and want my service cancelled and I am not paying any of the amount. Her response was "I cannot do that, you need to talk to the owner". I told her that i would be glad to talk to the owner but he was busy and she mentioned that he would call me back. I didn't get a call back and instead received another **** to pay the $80 service fee and the new equipment fee.Business response

I have spoken with the technician who replaced the keypad. He is a long tenure employee and he assures me that he never told them that the keypad would be free. We have always operated on a time and materials basis so it would be highly unlikely that he would have mislead them.
At Home Security Centers, we have worked diligently for the past 41 years to provide services that make people happy. Customers are always at liberty to cancel their service whenever they want so their service is cancelled as requested. In addition, I will credit their account.

I am rejecting this response because:It's a blatant lie. This has been the their practice all long. The only thing I would say with regard to Home Security centers is that they are the perfect example of get everything in writing because never believe anything they say.
