I engaged ********************* and ***************** of Masonry Restoration Experts to complete a project on our outdoor space to include:- demo of existing patio with pouring of new slab - outdoor fireplace production and finishing with veneer/material of choice - build outdoor kitchen structure with desired material - lay stone on patio surface I wrote a check for $12,500 as a deposit for the work. When it was time to execute the first phase demoing the existing patio and installing the new concrete patio I called **** in October of 2022 with the desired timeline. He said he would call me back that week to bring his person out to scope the work, provide detail around areas that will be reinforced and where there would be rebar etc.He did not call me back.I called him a second time and repeated my timeline and requirements. Then he got covid, no return call etc.This went on for about a month and finally with no committed timeline, scope, documentation or vendor I communicated that I had to move forward with someone else to coincide with my project timeline and that I would no longer be needing Masonry Restoration Experts to provide that component of the project. I communicated that meant a reduced scope and I asked **** to acknowledge that I had to move forward which he did.Then in the Spring of 2023, I asked **** and **** to come out and provide services for a now reduced scope of work.They came out, reviewed the space, but there was no action. I sent a series of follow up emails and texts requesting next steps, a plan, and so on. There was a lack of a communications, a committed timeline, scope, start date etc.I have since requested that they return my deposit via email, text message and voice mail with no response.I am now requesting the refund of my deposit of $12,500 for a project that was not only incomplete but never started.
