KDM Mechanical put in a heat pump, furnace and tankless hot water system. The start up date was April 12, 2022. They told us they put in a humidifier but it was not installed. They gave us a 10 year warranty on all labor and a manufacturer warranty on ***** system. Since installation the ****** tankless hot water system would get an error message and KDM was unable to resolve. Our heating would shut down when internet went out which it does occasionally in our rural area and KDM told me to go to fuse box and switch circuit back on manually. This happened numerous times upon having 2 other HVAC companies look at our system we found out that there was not a dedicated circuit for the furnace. KDM had put it on our sump pump circuit which is not code. Code is that a licensed electrician puts in a dedicated circuit for the heat pump. We have had to pay and deal with this problem on our own. I have texted and called KDM numerous times and never received any service. We also had to have another company come and trouble shoot our thermostat which was faulty and needed to be replaced. After the system was put in, I could see that the humidity gauge never changed from 35%. When talking to KDM to clarify how to control the humidifier **** *******, the owner and installer, told me it was working as it should and that 35 degrees was the highest it would go. The heat pump was put on 2 X4’s in the back of house and it should have been raised higher to avoid ice buildup. Much of this we found out after calling ***** support and having to get other HVAC specialists. There was a service needed warning on our thermostat and KDM did not respond to our requests for service. For the amount paid we were to have a mini split put in and instead **** made another zone on the heat pump. The humidifier was estimated to be $3,260.25. He did not delineate on the estimate amount that mini split would of cost. We have had to pay others to do the work that KDM promised.Business response

KDM isn't responsible for warranty work after one year. ***** is responsible and they got somewhere out there to resolve it. KDM only provides a one year warranty.Initial Complaint

**** ****** at KDM Mechanical in Pagosa Springs, CO installed a Friedrich 24,000 BTU mini split in our living room area. It never worked from the moment of installation. There were multiple reasons given by **** as to why the unit wasn’t working or why he couldn’t come back to service the unit over the next 6 months, and he rarely responded to any attempts at communication through email, texts and calls. Finally, on 07/06/2023, a second unit was installed to replace the first unit. It worked well for 2 1/2 days, and it is also now non-operational. We have once again made multiple attempts to contact him, and he is not retuning our calls/texts. He was paid in full (approximately $10,000) for this unit and a separate upstairs smaller unit (which is working) in January 2023. We need the 24,000 BTU unit repaired immediately, or we need it replaced for a second time. We also need even the most rudimentary communication, as silence on his part is absolutely not acceptable. If these things cannot be accomplished, we need a full refund for the cost of the 24,000 unit, a refund for the cost of labor to install the non-working unit, and monetary damages plus interest as we will have to have another company possibly TAKE OUT this unit before another one can be installed.
